You really made that mini look better than the sculpt.

Its amazing to see the speed that you go through this character at. What I like about your tutorials is that it’s actually followable to me as a reasonably new painter and yet looks top class. One thing that does make things challenging for me is that I use citadel paints and when you use different paint makes I would recommend that you try and also suggest colours in the alternative brands as well. Thanks for helping me though painting my models!

Thanks! Honestly there's so many alternate brands available that it's a bit difficult to go about suggesting all of the possible alternatives - especially when I may not even be aware of them (I don't own a complete line of either Reaper, Citadel, or P3 for example, and not one bottle of Army Painter or Pro Acryl). If you're even in doubt though, there's some great online tools for converting colours (though most seem to be missing the newer Citadel and P3 releases) or you can just ask the community here :)

Asheth Grey is probably closest to Mechanicus Standard Grey, though Asheth is a bit darker. There's not really a 1:1 replacement.

These look great. I didn't grow up reading comics, but I would like to get into this style, when you talk about, representing metals in black and white, and others kinda of hatching to show texture, I find myself craving a portfolio of comic images that I could stare at for hours to more intuitively 'get' what you are describing and I was curious 1) do you have such a portfolio of 2d art? 2) Would using any eras of comics do, or are there few artists in particular that really emphasize the style you are embodying in your work?
    Thanks for the vids!

My favourite era is the late 80s to mid 90s,mostly because that's when I really absorbed comics as a kid. X-men, Spider-man, and Ninja Turtles kind of form the core of 'comicness' for me.
As eras go, that's sort of the last shout of the pre-digitally-coloured comic, and the art style has changed a lot since digital tools became available to comic artists - there's more gradients and texture in surfaces than every before, and I like to return to when things were a bit simpler.
      I don't really keep a standing portfolio though, maybe I should :)
If you're just starting out, watch the X-men series on Disney+ - the old Fox Kids cartoon. It was visually very faithful to the comic art of the era, and did really interesting things with large amounts of black to set the tone of a frame.

@Dane Bronson I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm in the hacking process now.
I see it takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
