You can tell that James has had his love for the sims 4 sparked again in a big way since the release of dream home decorator and it’s so lovely to see!! I love watching someone who’s passionate about something have a good time with it. 😄
I agree. I thanked the Lord that EA/The Sims, finally came out with something that made James excited again. I enjoy watching James very much, his voice is very calming for me, I missed that. I do miss the "Hey Guys" over the "Welcome Back" but I'll live. 😂
i appreciate that james comes back to his old builds and hypes himself up. its a lot more pleasant to watch than people who heavily criticize their older work, and he should be proud! this build was good
@@JamesTurnerYT Really? I've never ran into that problem, when I build they're in the catalogue like everything else....i know all the cas stuff is locked, but I can access all the build buy stuff.... so that's...nifty hahaha.
I think having Batuu stuff in this house makes sense, 'cause these people would be all about showing off how they are preserving an ancient culture they really know nothing about.
Honestly, I kept waiting for you to cave and just start sprucing up the whole house! Lol I would love to see a series where you go back to old builds and renovate them... Especially the big wallet houses. That would show how much has changed over time both in the game and in your style!
Right! Hopefully someone will move in and he can renovate the house more. I think the reason he went and made that a room was for practicality (if they asked for a living room renovation, it might've glitched out since it isn't a room... or perhaps the game would just assume they don't have one.) I'm hoping he goes back to fix the one in Sulani and the University house (if only so he can actually do renovations there.)
@@LizzieNya If I had to guess, it's probably not in the same save file; however he likely could plop it into the Bigwallet save, because yes that is a spectacular build!
You should continue to renovate your other old builds too, like Lady Bigwallet’s Emporium or Max Power’s old penthouse. The throwback would be so cool.
I've been wanting re-dos/fixes of older builds for ages. TH-cam will recommend older videos and you'll make comments about items or tools you wished we had, and now we have them! As soon as you started redoing this lot, i immediately thought of the mountain house too. The lake house too would be fun once you have the lake tool with cottage living. As much fun as your let's plays are, I do miss just the Build videos from back in the day.
I feel that "bougie" is James' word of the week, since all his makeovers lately must have it, to the extent we could make it a drinking game every time he says it.
James, I'm moving this weekend, and I watched 5 of the latest LP episodes in a row, and it made the time fly by while I was packing! All these uploades are giving me life!
I've been enjoying the Dream Home Decorator "let's play" but I also like seeing the renovation you did for this (since then you don't have the restrictions of the Decorator job.) It's fun seeing you make the changes. I'd like to see you do the movie room at this house, but the others you mentioned sound fun too.
I LOVE the idea of waiting to do the Alpine mountain home for when cottage living is out!! I love the idea of being able to see what you do with the terrain tools and the new pond tool! I think that's an awesome video idea!
I'd LOVE to see a video revisiting the alpine mountain home, I've been hoping you'd do that since terrain tools came out but also yes wait until the pond tool is out. Also revisiting other homes in similar fashion, comepletely here for that
Edit: I LOVE the idea of going back and refining old builds with new techniques/tools!! Much more interesting to me than a regular build. If you want to use half-walls and their textures to line sunken areas, the deepest areas actually need to be at the "normal" foundation height, and everything else needs to be platforms raised above it. So most of your house will be raised higher than foundation level. Then outside, if you want it to look like the house isn’t raised off the ground, you bring up the terrain itself to be higher with terrain builder. The workaround era hasn't left, it's just changed:)
Speaking of your old builds... I'm still in love with your 70s house from ts3 that you showed some time ago and wish to see it recreated on ts4 someday. Love your content and how you hype your past creations, that's refreshing!
I would LOVE a series where you go back and redo old builds! Def wait until the new pack to do the Alpine build so you can make an actual pond. I AM SO EXCITED THE IT!
man i'd love to see your christmas cabin done up in the modern sims stuff. it was waaaaaaaaaay back, like back when we first got the holiday update sometime around outdoor retreat and get to work. between current stuff we have like seasons and stuff on the way like country living you could literally outdo yourself
Oh wow, I remember watching that build video and loving all the creative stuff you did to work around the game's limitations. Really cool to see how much has changed!
I loved this! So fun to watch, both to see how it can be done now and how it was done before. I love the stairs! So unique and looks so cool. I'd love to see more fixing old builds!
Really loving revisiting old lots! The factory/museum/shop wtf did it end up as build in Oasis Springs (?) You could do so much with! The Bigwallet restaurant! Lady's mansion! So excited!!!
I think about this all the time and I would love to see you revisit some of your favorite old builds to use new tools. I think it could be really interesting to see what sort of adaptation you had to come up with before you could actually do what you wanted.
I love how frequently you’re posting lately! Much thanks. Your DHD let’s play has been inspiring me to get more immersive in my own saves. Thanks for being awesome, James!!
I had no idea you could do this! For the longest time I've wanted to build my childhood home - a split level raised ranch with the entryway halfway between the upper floor and basement. Before I could only do it by making it technically a three level home instead of a two level home. I tried the platform tools but it never seemed to work right, but I guess I wasn't doing it properly? I didn't realize you had to define the "rooms" before messing with the platforms, so I was trying to build the platforms to get the floors laid out first, then put walls and stairs in after the face. I think I can now get it pretty close! Now if only they'd let us have basements with partially exposed walls for windows it'd be perfect...
I see we entered a new phase in James’ build style. From black and white very monochromatic to extravagant bougie to the point you question if he’s serious about it 😅
If you want to fix a build you could go back and fix Column and Plantain's home... Or at least give them some indoor campbeds around a cauldrun (and give Ticket a food bowl and a chew toy) and the fill the house with cracks and cobwebs and dead vegetation from the Vampires pack, so it looks like some magic went horribly wrong and the interior of the house got destroyed and they've just been camping out in their destroyed home ever since...
i love these videos every day, i always look forward to watching them when im done with work!! thanks for all your effort James. alsoooo, i hope the witches house can be renovated soon, it hurts my heart to know there is a baby and a dog in a house with nothing in it lmaoo

I'm genuinely having so much fun lately watching these videos. Thank you for making them James! The "Ah! Batuu!" moments make me laugh every single time.
I loved this renovation to upgrade to modern packs - this gives me a lot of ideas on what to do with my old builds - thanks again for an awesome vid, and yes, I highly recommend you do a lot more of these renovation vids because One, they are entertaining, and Two, we are all learning from you - it is a win win combo - thanks for sharing
Yeah man do more fixing like this! I've been rewatching your old house build videos and think to myself "James should fix this since we have the features to make it function better now" but your DIYs on all of them are pretty creative anyways so I ain't complaining.
James this is so weird for me because almost exactly a year a ago I was sick with covid and rewatching your old streams. This was one of the ones I really enjoyed and now, a year almost to the day you are renovating it!
you seriously did some really cool stuff in this build it's so incredible. you should be so happy about this build esp considering so much of this wasn't made yet in the game and you made it work like this. that's so sick dude
I am feeling all this all this content from James. To see him into sims again makes me into it again. I've not played any games since last fall now I'm excited for cottage living can't wait to create my new. Legacy decades challenge founder. Thanks James.
Once we have the pond tool I'd love to see you go back and do like the houseboat or homes floating over the pond style you've had to do with pools and disguising the edge in the past
We have more hanging plants, they are just in debug. I can't recommend enough the Better build buy mod TwistedMexi created - these items actually show up in right categories, not hidden in debug.

The entrance platform step down design is cool. James creativity always amazes me.
Yeah. It would look weird in a reg house, but fits the mansion well

It's just that you gotta give granny a hand when she visits. You don't want accidents to happen.
This house would have a song dedicated to it probably called “the last great sim-erican dynasty” because it was owned by the iconic Lady Bigwallet II.
