you're right on the money, I feel like homeboy could probably play any porcupine tree song (maybe excluding futile) and have it sound just as clean, and conversely gavin harrison can sit back and be just as precise which is even harder some might argue.
Their control of rhythm is INHUMAN. Their tempo is all over but they are consistently together to a T, creating this soothing yet chaotic sound I have never heard before until now. They aren't playing jazz, they are like a living embodiment of it, like an essence of form of expression.
I only knew them by the 'time moves slow' song that is playing in some radio stations, and I was so impressed with their musicality that take a note to try to know more bout them, and I got even more surprised!!! Very good players, not typical to have such a band, specially at their age! And the drummer, so jazzy... Got to hear all their albums :-)
At a party and someone unimportant asks, "So what kind of music do you listen too?" Me: "uuuuuuhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...... let's just go with "Rock"...." This music is what I wish I could convey into words, but if I could it would cheapen the experience somehow. Great sounds BBNG!
I know this is pretty unique, but can somebody recommend any songs similar to this ? That have a leading sax and this kind of dynamic. I’ve been looking for so long
Im sure that is not the same issue live.. Recording live shows take post production and maybe remixing efforts, they are not gonna show you raw audio. Cause, my boy Chester isnt very chill at his instrument.
What a beautiful drummer. His playing is so free, and open. Huge inspiration to me.
Easily my favorite drummer...and this is not my favorite genre of music...
Hey that rhymes!
There are few drummers who are as clean as he is, Gavin Harrison, is one I feel as clean
fuck clean man

Fernando Gomes gotta listen to their red Bull song.
As a musician, this is very cleansing to watch ❤️
I love the river tiber shirt he's wearing!! both are amazing artists.
It’s like they’re telepathically connected.
My absolute fav BBNG track- stunning!
Bill Evans, John Coltrane, Paul Chambers, Buddy Rich
Felipe Sanhueza the sax really does have a Coltrane sound
he likes 1-2-3-5
Don’t disrespect Evans, Coltrane or Chamber like that. Buddy Rich is nothing like this drummer is any way
amazing sound and feeling. come visit Chile soon!

Whitty sounds like Coltrane would if he was battling the Wu-Tang Clan and I'm sure you all know the moment Ol' DB takes their final K.O.

is it just me or is Chester never loud enough in the mix at live shows...
Gofast Carly bro chuck in some earphones, put them on full and chill u will here things that u never heard(Chester’s bass)
Im sure that is not the same issue live.. Recording live shows take post production and maybe remixing efforts, they are not gonna show you raw audio. Cause, my boy Chester isnt very chill at his instrument.
Yeah the bass needs to be concerned
this is one of my favorite songs in the world, and from a near perfect album... keyboard dude came close to ruining it forever with those faces.
is that alto or tenor
Tenor
that intro is just begging to be sampled by some rap producer
I miss Matt T on the keys... BBND is not the same without him..
Is it just me or is he reading music notes? I hope not...
I really doubt he is. I think he was just looking down out of nervousness
even if he was it doesn't take away from it
yeah, really.
Do you see any sheet music in front of him? His solo was like 100 bars, he would have had to have turned at least a few pages if he was reading music.
rip bbng
