Maybe .net core (3.0?) not installed, need the console application publish with --self-contained?

    Hello, Anna/Raymond,
Thanks for a very informative show. I am trying to use the console app, but run into an issue: "A fatal error occurred. The required library hostfxr.dll could not be found." Even though the DMA application runs fine, but it just doing assessment. Which version of the .Net core is required for the console app? I do want to run the console app to get the SKU recommendations etc. Also, what's in the config file for initial data gathering? Would appreciate if you can share that info as well.

      Hi Junli,
You would need to Install the minimum version .NET Core 3.1 on the tools machine where the SKU recommendations console application is running. Thank you for your suggestion, we have included the link with the prerequisites in the description:docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/dma/dma-sku-recommend-sql-db?view=sql-server-ver15.
On the second question regarding the config file, are you looking for perf dimensions/values we collect or rather how you can leverage a json configuration file?
