    Pastors notes
    1. God would not accept Abraham's works as a means of salvation. Romans 4:1-3
    2. Believing in works for salvation puts you in an IMPOSSIBLE predicament for paying an IMPOSSIBLE debt. Romans 4:4; Galatians 3:10-1.
    3. The good works of Abraham's day were not the keeping of the Mosaic Law. Galatians 3:17.
    4. Salvation is a gift by faith in Christ alone, apart from works. Romans 4:5; Ephesians 2:8-9.
    5. In the plan of salvation, there are three aspects to imputation I want to mention:
    a. The imputation of Adam's sin to the human race. Romans 5:12
    b. The imputation of the sin of the human race to Christ. Isaiah 53:6.
    c. The imputation of the righteousness of Christ to the believer. 2 Corinthians 5:21.
    Romans 4:6-12

Drunkards, thieves, etc will not inherit the kingdom of heaven. Well I keep screwing up on the drinking. So -as the argument goes- I was never saved in the first place. Boom! Done! Pray that I’ll stop please!

If you have put your trust in Christ as your payment for your sins then you are saved, regardless of what sins you may commit afterwards. Yes you should stop drinking out of respect, appreciation, and obedience to the Lord but doing so won't save you from hell. Only trusting in Christ gives you eternal life with him in Heaven.

Do you think God could forgive and save a rapist, a murderer, an adulterer, someone involved in incest, a nasty whore, the vilest of homosexuals? If you say yes to that question, then don't you think Christs sacrifice on the cross for the payment of all of our sins was enough to make clean a drinker of alcohol? Is your answer yes or no?

@@goldsmith001 Whether a person is obedient or not after salvation is their choice. Of course, God will help you get past any sin if you want it, but that is a choice. If you are disobedient you will be chastised and reap what you sew. Have you not read the Parable of the Prodigal Son or the Parable of the 4 Soils? Once saved always saved! Obedience is a choice and you will either be blessed because you chose obedience or chastised because you did not. Romans 4:5 - 'But to him that WORKETH NOT, but believeth on Him (the Lord Jesus Christ) that justifieth THE UNDGODLY, his faith is counted for righteousness.
