As a Registered Nurse in Canada, I am totally not surprised that Jo Brand trained as a nurse. Nurses are some of the funniest people I know. Love Jo Brand.
I have loved you from when you burst on the scene Jo. You have done a lot for mental health issues by talking about it. I like that you can talk about your family. we were always frightened and it helps to know you arent alone.
I have always loved jo as an entertainer in any/every format and she knows that she played a pivotal role in literally pulling me from death's door following a very rare condition that noones ever survived before. I experienced medical miracles throughout my rehabilitation from that illness which are cited now in medical journals and i dont say that to highlight me because that's all about jo and the power she has to be such a positive distraction.I wrote to her expressing my thanks and received such a lovely, hilarious handwritten letter back from her which I had never expected. She's a total star.
There is something really soothing about keeping and wearing a knitted jumper, I knitted an awful jumper of scrappy stitches that made me look huge; but it was a big achievement at the time!

Regarding the perceived limitations of being called "a national treaure," I think of a story that I heard about Dame Judi Dench. Supposedly, she walked in front of a taxi; the driver slammed on the brakes, stuck his head out the window and called her a cow. Without missing a beat, she retorted, "That's DAME Cow to you!"
