    I am considering getting a longboard. Just wondering if you will get into trouble by riding a skateboard on a pedestrian walkway?

    • @HarryLamHK
      @HarryLamHK  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Tripped by nuts/rocks/holes/kerbs
      Spilled by water spots
      Slowed down by pedestrians/pets
      These are the common issues faced on pedestrian walkways.

    Your videos are so peaceful. Any tips for how to learn to push and ride switch?

      Choose a safe area to practice with your skateboard at the beginning.
      Copy every details from your original side. Keep comparing both side (you may use a camera to help it).
      Don't forget to shift your upper body weight (forward/backward) after the moment of changing between "push" and "cruise" mode.
      When you are idling or taking train, stand with your secondary foot soly. If standing with both foot, put more weight on secondary foot.
      Contract your foot and calf muscle, imaging gripping sand from the ground by your secondary foot.
      I learnt pushing mongo first, then tried pushing switch. Finally the hardest one was switch "caving".

      If you're new, start riding switch immediately, the longer you wait the harder it is to learn

    250th sub here! I have a Pranayama on the way, this is inspiring me to take it into the city for sure. Must give that rear wheel braking technique a shot too!

    How did you decide between the ember and the pranayama?

      I read this thread😂. I wanted a light cruiser for daily commuting.

    Hello Harry, your video is awesome. I am a longboard newbie. I wonder if your longboard has brakes at all the four wheels as it appears that your speed was not being too fast even going downhills.

    • @HarryLamHK
      @HarryLamHK  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I used an alternative braking method, you may watch a demo video here: th-cam.com/video/ZtWVczorXjA/w-d-xo.html
      It is only used for double drop decks with big wheels.
      Normally, "footbraking" is enough for short downhill road.
      Currently, I will randomly select both methods when city cruising.

    Have you done one of the Ultraskate events like in Miami?

    • @HarryLamHK
      @HarryLamHK  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, I haven't. I am so interested and excited about Ultraskate. I really appreciate all the participants. I started my longboard journey right after the commencement of COVID. My last foreign traveling was in 2019. I miss foreign traveling so much...

      @@HarryLamHK I am new to LDP but I just rode with a guy who is participating this weekend in Ultraskate Miami. Hopefully, I will go there next year, and I wish you will get the same opportunity to travel and distance skate in the future. Btw, I find your videos inspirational and instructive. Thank you.

      Well once all the craziness with Covid and Ukraine settles down a bit you should do ultaskate Miami or Netherlands. My friend Tim took second in sup/push, but more importantly had an awesome time with skating friends.

    • @HarryLamHK
      @HarryLamHK  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      原本前後輪都是83A,後來將後輪換做80A,感覺慢一點,但確保不打滑👍🏻 路感震動方面,我覺得沒分別

      @@lychenyan1 多謝你! 大輪的確可以對應很多地型, 但刷街時亦都要小心地面上的石頭/果實, 上星期五我就不小心讓前輪卡住果實, 飛仆地上擦損了, 經過這次意外之後, 我日後至少會穿上手套才刷街~
