The 3:1 numerical advantage is so often misquoted. It’s specifically for breaching well fortified enemy positions before the introduction of firearms. These days there are far too many variables to rely on such a simple “rule”
In fact, the rule is about the ratio of attackers killed to defenders. Since last year, the Ukrainians have "raised" it to 5:1 and in some cases even to 7:1. In these murderous rash attacks, they have an average of over 1500 people killed every night!
@@AlexJohn-dickUkraine claims to have taken out more troops than Russia even deployed. Their claims are unreliable at best and just straight up lies at worst
@@yarnickgoovaerts, What do you think - why did Putler make two mobilizations? Why include orcs from North Korea! Maybe because until today, 760,000 of their zombies have already been proven killed! Proven with geolocated photos and videos!
3:00 I'm pretty sure that this 3:1 rule that is commonly talked about is misunderstood. It's not that the attacker should have a 3:1 numerical advantage (a successful attack with inferior number of troops is possible), but rather that the combined force ratio of the attacker in respect to the defender should be 3:1. With combined force ration referring to the ratio of combat power, not troop numbers exclusively. This kind of obvious if you think about it, are we really going to say that even an attack supported by overwhelming support fire such as artillery and aviation will always fail if a similar to 3:1 troop ratio is not reached? I'm pretty sure the 3:1 ratio would be more accurately used to describe the forces ratio, which would not only take into account the troop number but their various aspects, such as experience and firepower. For example, a platoon of infantry supported by a platoon of tanks, should in theory (according to the common interpretation of the 3:1 rule), fail to attack an enemy infantry platoon defending, as the numerical advantage would be 2:1 and not 3:1, however I expect that in the real world, the attacking force would succeed, and if we examined the combined force ratio we would probably see that although the numerical advantage was only 2:1, the combined force ratio was significantly higher than 3:1
The 3:1 “rule” is very outdated. There are too many variables in modern warfare like aircraft, artillery, tanks, machine guns, drones, rocket launchers
The 3:1 ratio refers to given casualties from attackers (3) to defenders (1). In this war, the Ukrainian defenders losing at the beginning of 2022, have already raised this ratio to 5:1. And in some cases, when Russian officers use the old tactics of the WWII war, this ratio has reached the unprecedented 7:1. Thus, the number of Kremlin orcs killed in three years reached 760,000 !!! World analysts are talking about even higher numbers, after including the North Korean deaths! Every day, over 1650-2000 people die or are injured there...
While I agree drones should be more integrated into the smaller units, I don’t think having 2-3 drone operators in each squad would be a good idea. Assault units could have a drone operator to oversee the attack (Russian “Storm-Z” assault detachments already do that), I don’t think each infantry squad should have their own drones. It’ll probably be better to have a couple of dedicated drone teams on the company or even battalion level that the company or battalion commander could deploy more freely depending on the geographical situation while the infantry squads are free to maneuver and do their jobs. Concentrating drones in specialized units makes the overall formation more flexible and they can share parts and help each other with maintenance and preparing their drones. We already see this being done by the Ukrainian army and its safe to assume the Russians do the same
the 2 men team from 12 once they get to their destination and drone support is to counter Ukraine drones finding them in group and also to make it easier to operate. 50 drones per 2 men is insane, and it's proven to be true, i doubted it when i heard it.

Yes they are not 100% sure it’s occupied or not! So they have to approach it as if it’s occupied inorder to ensure max safety and risks of falling into a trap.
Actually this whole Kursk operation was mostly beneficial for Russians. Their citizens got mad and Putin’s ratings went higher. Before it still was a war somewhere else for them; now it became the war in their own country. NATO and Zelenskiy thought the attack on Kursk will force Russians to move their forces from Donbass to protect Kursk; instead, Putin didn’t care much and let Ukrainians capture some territories and hold them for a whole. Not sure if that was just a random decision or not, but it did benefit Russia in terms of strategic planning
That's true, because before that they made it seem as if "russian dissident" forces were atacking Russia to "liberate" it; that all changed when troops speaking Ukrainian broke in to people's houses and started forcing them out at gunpoint.
The war in Ukraine 2024. -Ukraine continues to slowly lose ground in Luhansk regions but still manage to hasn't allowed any Russian to have a major breakthrough in Luhansk region. -In Donetsk region is a different story the Russian had made a major break through and the Ukrainian have been force to retreat back to make a new defensive position or risk being encircle. In the past Ukraine would send reinforcements to help clog up those defensive lines that had falter, but we didn't see that this year. Ukrainian troops in Donetsk are on their own. No reinforcements are coming and now the Russian are closing in on the city of Pokrovsk. The lack of the Ukrainian man power is obvious at this point. Yes Russia are losing more man on the front line this year than any year because of this major offensive by the Russian this year. But to Putin, it's working, and he doesn't care as long as it's working, man power is not an issue for Russia. -In Zaporizhzhia region the Ukrainian are suffering the exact same issue as they have in Donetsk, not looking good. -In Kerson Region that battle line hasn't move since 2022 after the Ukrainian major offensive push the Russian across the Dnepro River back in 2022. That river is its own defensive line helping Ukraine. -Then what made it even worse for Ukraine is that Russia had once again invaded Kharkiv from the Russian border direction, forcing Ukraine to divert troops from the already thin defensive line to the Kharkiv border. -Then Ukraine suprise the world by invading Russia Kursk region. Most likely was done to try to force Russia to divert some of their troops. The Ukrainian man power shortage right now is a major problem. Ukraine generals have been urging Zelensky to lower the mandatory draft age down to 18 years old because as of now it's 25-60.
Maybe it's a very stupid question, but paratroopers mean troops who are dropped onto the battlefield with parachutes, no?? I don't see a single flying soldier.
I am not a soldier, but what I have heard is that paratroopers are forces dropped behind enemy lines via airborne assets through parachutes. And they disrupt enemy key infrastructure like railway lines or bridges etc. However, it doesn’t mean they can’t be deployed on ground, like in the video they use light weapons and light vehicles to attack and capture enemy positions.
@@BrutalEnough Oh I see. So basically what determines if you're a paratrooper or not is wether you are trained to be dropped, or not, and not wether you're actually dropped or not :D
They are elite troops, they are send where they are needed. It's the same in every country. Look at the 101 airborne that crossed France by trucks during ww2.
@@randomkommentelo9015parachute drops are pretty rare in modern warfare because of ever more effective air defense systems. Paratroopers are usually light infantry that often times doesn’t have any vehicles at all. They’re supposed to be dropped deep into enemy territory to attack command posts and logistical infrastructure like important bridges and cross roads. The VDV is unique as they received special light armored vehicles (BMDs, Boyevaya Mashina Desanta or “combat vehicle of the airborne”) and were basically supposed to act as mechanized infantry deep into NATO territory. Since the Soviet Union collapsed Russia couldn’t field an air force large enough to transport all their VDV Regiments, so during the war they deployed them as elite mechanized infantry to still utilize their superior training (similar to the German Fallschirmjagers during the later stages of WW2). They are mainly infantry focused so they started using more MRAPs and other light vehicles for fast infantry attacks (they are also often seen riding dirt bikes like a modern iteration of cavalry). We have seen an airborne assault at the beginning of the war at Hostomel airport, but the ground forces failed to link up and relieve the assault forces so it ultimately failed. One more thing I do want to say is that Ukraine also has VDV units but only a few are actually equipped with air droppable vehicles, while the rest are fully intended as elite mechanized infantry

@@AlexJohn-dickUkraine claims to have taken out more troops than Russia even deployed. Their claims are unreliable at best and just straight up lies at worst
Very true
Well here it looks like it was 3:0 and it was still heavily contested

Thanks!

Another day more land given to Russia. Ukraine has not had a net gain of land since Summer 2022.
What? Didn't they take a bunch of Russian land?
@@SirSparrowHawk Yes. But they have lost more of their own in the process. Take a mile in Russia but give 5 miles in Ukraine. I mean ngl but watching the more recent north korean video + this, russians and their north korean soldiers dont have as bad equipment and weapons as i was led to believe. i was thinking old rusty ak's and mosins but they actually got decent gear on. I guess it depends on the unit.
i dont agree defender has advantage, sitting duck in one spot is not advantage in any circumstance , attacking gives u time to think and reflect on ur move
Would be interested in the geolocation.. I’ve seen these and then when they are geolocated it turns out to be in the rear of the Russian lines

I don't see any indication that the position is occupied.
Okay Ivan, if this was beneficial to Russia, why do they desperately keep wasting soldiers trying to take back the Kursk territory?
That's true, because before that they made it seem as if "russian dissident" forces were atacking Russia to "liberate" it; that all changed when troops speaking Ukrainian broke in to people's houses and started forcing them out at gunpoint.

Ukraine is losing and bad
Been hearing that for three years. Any minute now tho…. Maybe after the *checks notes* North Koreans figure things out in Russia?

Paratroopers are usually elite forces. They can be dropped with parachutes but most of the time they are deployed as ground forces.
One more thing I do want to say is that Ukraine also has VDV units but only a few are actually equipped with air droppable vehicles, while the rest are fully intended as elite mechanized infantry
video is russian propaganda, there are no ennemies there
If u see enemies, ur dead or u capture them. On video its near Impossible to record enemies :/
