Thanks so much for posting! I just picked up a Hero New No.1. It's very similar to yours. I also got the bagging elevator. Needs a little work, but not too bad. Watching yours work is very helpful!

I have a "Winner" fanning mill that is very similar, also made in Minneapolis, Mn. My elevator is set up for bagging with a place for 2 bags and a "flipper" to divert the clean grain. I am missing the board that carries the clean grain to the elevator. I'm trying to get it operational to clean corn for my corn burning stove.

I will do another video this fall. I found how to make the bag holder so that i can use the bag diverter on the elevator. Also I bent some aluminum to channel the clean seed to the elevator. This is just screwed to the wood on the screener. the drop from the left side to the elevator is about 3 inches. I should probably make a shield for the elevator also just to be safer. Also need to make a chain tensioner.

Great video. I have a Pioneer Bulldog fanning mill. It's got screens for wheat and durum wheat. I'm trying to figure out the right order for the 5 screens. They're numbers 1-5 and 3 & 4 are the same.

learning about screen sizes is a whole new education. ir.library.msstate.edu/bitstream/handle/11668/13666/1960-04-Selection%20of%20Screens%20for%20Cleaning%20Seed.pdf?sequence=1&isAllowed=y

@@mshuda1264 thanks for the article! I wondered what the triangular screen was for.

I cleaned about 300 bu of oats this year. Now I am looking to find screens to clean black beans.

Fleman sells many screens you can fabricate to your own design.

@@AdamNovicki I purchased screens from AT Ferrell. they make clipper fanning mills and have screens that are very close in size to what i needed.

Is there any way you can show me how the clean seed gets from the bottom of the last screen, over to the elevator? I have a piece of gutter I was planning to use there because the trough is missing on my "WINNER" Fanning Mill" .
I recently found, online, that the maker of the Winner, had owned stock in the Hero makers company and sold out, to build his own. Then came the lawsuit for patent infringement.
