Marwa Arnaout I think you have to be strategic in how you get these qualities seen, its not by asking them questions, its comes through with what they do and say, and what other people have to say about them, your family should inshallah inquire about him others etc. There is only so much that you will know before marriage but then, that's why we perform istikhara so that Allah will guide us and make it happen if its best for us. Remember though that no one is perfect so don't expect to see 100% positive qualities just enough that you feel that you can live with him and that the negative qualities aren't a deal breaker. And Allah knows best.

My secondary school English teacher put me in a group back then called 'Gifted and Talented in English' but my whole life till now I was convinced that she only did that because we got on so well. As for getting to the point, it's probbably my impatient side. I naturally like people to get to the point lol. But I do write each point down so that I don't forget what I want to say and I think that gives some clear structure. My best advise is that practise makes perfect so even if it's not a natural gift, it's a skill that can be learnt and improved on with practise. Sorry for the essay 😁

Please get a pre-nup ready. If he rejects. This is red flag. Yes Islam permits men to have more than one wife . But men can and do exploit this - many plural marriages at least one wife or family ends up with financial or emotional hardship or both. Can it succeed yes but a pre-nup is there to protect you and your future kids. Also get him to give you a will that protects your rights and your future kids in case he pass away. Never agree to marry a man who rejects a pre-nup and giving you a will. These docs are about protecting you - not about hurting him and other wife. Get an informed person or your wali ( whose job is to protect you) to negotiate the pre-nup and will for you. These contracts are about protecting you & your future children's rights it is not about creating hardship but preventing it where possible Insya Allah. In my country singapore muslim men are allowed to marry up to 4 wives. I used to work as a legal assistant for a family/divorce lawyer thats why i am sharing.

While watching this video, I noticed that the Holy Qur'an is placed on the shelf such that your back is towards it. Since, Holy Qur'an is the word of Allah SWT so out of respect for it we should try our best that our back is never towards the Holy Qur'an.
