Not sure about your statement. Too vague and over generalised! Let's critically analyse things, why give credence to a chief or King who reigns over filth, poverty, disease and deprivation? If I was to laud the Dubai King, it would be due to the sheer scale of Dubai's development in the last few years. The last time I checked, the majority of Ashanti's live in impoverished circumstances.

I have lived and worked in Dubai for over 30 years and saw all the development here. There is nothing called politics here and therefore no need to make comparisons. It's like a federal Government and every Emirate in UAE is ruled by the Sheikhs. There are 7 Emirates that forms the UAE. UAE was not built in a day. They went through a lot but they protected their customs and tradition and promoted the same. That's what I meant by saying Africa is not advancing because we don't protect what we have. We do pay taxes here that goes to the Government of Dubai and we get due services for the same. Correct me if am wrong, do we pay taxes to Otumfuor? Dubai holds on to its roots and you can see them when you visit the museum here. They will tell you where they came from and where they are heading. Let's not talk about poverty because it is everywhere. It's only in Africa where you bring out your stories for people to sympathize with you. We need to review our constitution and give some powers to the Paramount Chiefs. When this done and we don't see any development, then we can descend on them. The rulers of the Emirates are ruling their territories for life. No Elections. Please put this in your mind.

Besides, his supporters want him to receive the adulation linked to monarchy but conveniently exclude him from his primary and logical responsibility of being a channel of development. Just look at his tenure of 25 years and weigh that against the large scale deprivation. IMO, the tax issue is a non-starter, if he can't use his influence, then he's of zero consequence! What's the point of the man?

The only thing they have is lease from their lands by constitution as they are owners of the land Uk, Denmark and other European countries etc have monarchs but are not allowed to be in politics The Europe you see now was not developed by monarchs but the politicians and citizens who decided to absolve them of their power of governing their country They now keep these monarchs in Europe for ceremonial reasons The chiefs can use their influence by attracting investment but ask businesses that are not able to expand because of how untrustworthy some of the people in Ghana are A few years ago, I wanted to set up a couple of businesses in Ghana. This I believe could employ 10 people. My lovely elders told me that if I won’t stay in Ghana and look after it then I should forget it. On the other hand my co equals was encouraging me to I am glad I didn’t listen to my co equals because some that decided to pour their hard earned capital lost it all because they were not there to supervise the project. Meanwhile everyone was paid to their job. They keep stealing from your business till your business have no money to pay it’s bills If you get police to arrest them they will pay bribe to be bailed and make it foolish case
