About the 70, it does drain the battery fast if using a lot or when it connected and powered off. However I like mine, but think about getting a rapid charger and extra battery. Take your time review other options and what your able to save up to purchase. Have fun radio-ing.
My FT-70 experience was disappointing. 1. Sent in for warranty repair for three times the first year for failing LEDs. 2. Yaesu claimed that input voltage was the issue but the failure occurred off the charger. 3. Depletes a battery every 8 hours in receive only mode I have not powered up the FT-70 in two years. Can't sell it with a clear conscience knowing it's a lemon. Definitely a poor decision.
I thought Disney banned all portable radios? Had someone decide 144.200 was a good place for C4FM... not smart... a dozen hams all across MN out to 200 miles heard it, knew what it was, DF'ed the guy and paid him a visit. I heard it 125 miles out pointed 30 degrees off him. When I swung up onto him it was obvious what it was. And it was S9...
Your video " Should I Buy an FT70 " is very misleading and a waste of time. No real in depth comments on the FT70. Come on you can do better that that. In fact you didn't even answer your own question.
I did a MARS modification on my FT 70D. took 5 minutes. No heating required. Excellent radio. Perfect for ham and GMRS. Diamond antenna
0:48 Diamond VX-30
Awesome radio. I did buy extra batteries because they do go fast.
As long as the radio works and you’re happy with what it does, get it! 73!

I have same issue with my FT70 but its a good HT - G0LQP 73
Good evening Bob…. I love my FT5, and I run the same Nagoya antenna that you recommended in a past video….
Where I go hunting VHF/UHF is no help, I have low bands in the truck and also an external HF portable stand alone system with a solar/battery system.
Hi, i had my ft 70dr mars modded and want to know if it will receive public safety P25 radio since this is a digital radio?
No, the MARS mod simply allows the radio to transmit out of band. The radio can receive analog and C4FM signals. P25 is a different protocol
I thought this was about the Ft 70?
Can the C4 FM talk to the old FM anolog radio if it can't not that Radio for me
Yes it can. Digital radios can fall back to analog FM at the push of a button.
Just bought one give give my FT-5 a friend. In reality its to give me two handhelds that can both do YSF.

Volume control is very inconvenient I was always turning it off and battery life stinks
wouldn't go any place that blocked ham radio, forget that..
Imagine being scared of a ham radio at the same time surrounded by thousands of smart phones. 😂
Disney world loves Ham Operators. Disneyland just sucks overall. We walked into Disney World with GMRS radios. KN6PWH... 73
I have a Yeasu FT5D HT!
The FT70 seems to drain the battery even when it is off. But good sounding rig.
Maybe take the didital mode out of it, snd make a great "FT69"!
Why no ham at Disney?
One of Disney's great mysteries.

Alot of videos to look at on TH-cam. Heading was about a FT70, all we saw was another radio. A waste of 13 minutes
Yes Bob
I've lost a few FT60s.
It's a nice radio programing I didn't like. Like the ft5 better. Wires x portable node so I can use it
I will trade you my FT-70 for your Light Saber! :)
A good radio but battery life is horrible and really not any better 3rd party batteries on the market. Other than that, an easy to use radio
Ft3d for the win.
He needs to study more. That general test ain't going to pass itself.
Just tell the Disney security that is Family radio!!!!!!!!!
Make one in rainbow colors, and you're in!

You didn't watch to the end. He answers the question towards the end of the video.
No
Nope, don’t do it
I have one and it is my EDC radio
