I personally feel like the key difference between Orlock and Dracula 🧛 is there’s still ( in the book and some adaptations) a sliver of humanity left in him . He wasn’t an entirely bad man in his human life. Orlock however was a rotten human being , and is pure evil. Opinion some may or may not agree
Couple of things: 1. "Nosferatu" is a made up word without ties to any language. The term was first coined in an essay titled "Transylvanian superstitions" by Emily Gerard in the 1800s. 2. The plague that was referenced in the 1922 film was likely the Spanish flu, not the bubonic plague.
@@Reprodestruxion it might be, but the crux of the issue is that it's a term coined by a Scottish author who had a loose grasp of the languages of Eastern & South Eastern Europe, then popularised by Irish author Abraham "Bram" Stoker. The point is, you could try relate it to Greek/Romanian/Turkish words all you want but it is still a made up word invented by a Scotswoman.
There's quite a few things wrong with this but the main thing is that you said Orlock of the Robert Eggers film is more like a corpse than a traditional vampire which is absolutely wrong. In real eastern European vampire lore the vampires are always basically bloodsucking corpses there's not one single story from eastern Europe of a beautiful or suave vampire
You mean the Nosferatu type of vampire in Dracula Untold, as portrayed by Charles Dance...? Another iconic performance by that man... th-cam.com/video/-YxbPnO-6GY/w-d-xo.html
I think its more frightening when dracula can blend in with other.....gary oldman was brilliant as Dracula he was a chilling character even when he was in the city following Winona
Not a big fan of vampire movies but do like the classics with Bela Lugosi and Christopher Lee. The more recent type ofvampire movies like Twilight dont really interest me.
FYI to those who don’t know: Nosferatu was directly inspired by Bram Stoker’s Dracula novel. It was made specifically as a wannabe twist on the story with certain changes so they wouldn’t get sued...which they did anyway and the original film was banned and destroyed by Stoker’s Widow a hundred years ago. Some copies survived which is why the silent film is known. The remake is far superior to the original, but it’s VERY dark and demonic...I was very disturbed by it. It dragged too much though. Overall it was an awful film. We walked out...
We went to see it last night. It was a fully sold out screening and I can’t tell you how many people got up and walked out half way through. Visually, it’s stunning, but I found it to be so boring.
The movie sucked they hyped it was a scary horror movie it was boring and not scary … hate how people can’t call it how it is and have to say it’s “artsy and amazing”
I just can't unsee Peter from What We Do In The Shadows 😂
petyr best vampire🎉
I liked the movie "Shadow of the vampire". Everyone thought the actor playing nosferatu was just method acting but was an actual vampire.
That was brilliant!
And it was Willem Defoe!
@@remolobo
Yeah switcheroo 😆
I loved that movie…just watched it last week. AND I saw it in the theater when it first came out!
You can see magical symbols and squares when he’s reading. Nice touch.
Nosferatu’s best on screen time was his appearance on Spongbob
Omg, I literally laughed out loud! I have to go see this now!
Yes ,he was cool with spongebob😂
So Nosferatu is basically Temu Dracula
So so so true
most likely yeah😅
I mean that seems a bit harsh since it is a genuinely good and masterful movie and inspired so much but that is one way you could compare it
That's exactly what it is. So much so that Bram Stoker's family sued the original creators of Nosferatu for copyright infringement and won lol
Many thanks happy new year everyone!🎉🎉🎉
Definitely gotta see this one
This has always been my favorite representation of vampires; it’s so creepy and unsettling
I believe there's a Greek word nosophoros, meaning plague bearer.
I just saw it, definitely worth watching
You really did great with this video. 💯🖤
the real question is how long would they last against blade/selene
not that long
They would barley survived Buffy the vampire slayer and Trevor Belmont
I watched the new nosferatu and swear I was watching bram stoker’s Dracula. Nearly identical movies but with a different vampire.
I’m like isn’t this the voyage of the Demeter all over again? Way to parallel of a story. Borderline “knock off” from B.S Dracula.
*Before i watch, are they going to ask if they "can reproduce!!"* 😂😂
Within species.
@@J4ckCr0w They aren't a different species though. They are just dead humans with vampirism.
“Mom, can we get a Dracula?”
“We have Dracula at home.”
Dracula at home:
"Yes, we have Nosferatu! We have Nosferatu today! It just came in the mail!"
-- Harvey Korman
Dracula dead and loving it. So good.
Mel Brooks really knows how to make a movie.😂😂
the remake was from 1979 not the 1922 one

It has everything to do with it. She not A bad person.
Hunny seeing Holt playing two very different versions of "Renfield" within such a short time
Except he didn't. He played the character based of Jonathan Harker
Happy New Year 🎊🎉🥳🕛
Would be funny to have a prequel based in the Academy of Scholomance with Dracula and Orlok as schoolmates
Isnt sunlight the best disinfectant.
Killing my eardrums with every segment intro

Isnt it related to nusfuritul ?

Count Orlok is literally Dracula with a name change for copy right reasons.

It is said that Vlad Dracul was changed by a nosferatu.

@deno7343 yes
I would think that an slightly impure woman might lose nerve try to save her own life at the very last moment, and utterly fail. 🎤
Can you imagine coming across someone who looks like 'Count Orlock'?..... Screaming ALL the way, away!!
He looks like Stoker's Dracula. ❤
ive been looking at these videos for years and now i need to know is there a complition of the video thumbnails?
Nosferatu seems as if he is a white a lesser species of vampire not a vampire
I think its more frightening when dracula can blend in with other.....gary oldman was brilliant as Dracula he was a chilling character even when he was in the city following Winona
I could see Nos and Drac as Plagus vs Palpatine
Explain that Freddy Kruger bit because, what?
robert eddison is that dude from buzzfeed unsolved
You forgot that the new count Orlok looks like Freddy Mercury
Looks and sounds like Milan Frans
"Nails ain't just sharp they are long and pointy "..... sharp sounds scarier , long a point sounds funny

Dracula is a surname wich means "son of Dracul" (Vlad II in hystory), nosferatu is just a romanian word wich mean vampire.
Lol at the way he purnounced Occult, as "Awwwwe-chult" 😂
Anyone else thinking of NOS-4-A-2 from Buzz Lightyear of Star Command when they hear Nosferatu?……no, just me?
The first vampire looks like he could peck a tree down with that nose😂
Longer teeth.
😮😮😮😮😮😮❤❤❤❤
It’s a deliberate rip off. Call it what it is.

Should have given the appearance in the thumbnail. The mustache threw me off kinda wack.
There are so, so many errors in this video. ChatGPT?
SpongeBob sent me here
Mmmn yum, more Marvelous Slop AI thumbnails, keep up with these Ls
Wow spoiler of his look in the thumbnail
Nope
I did not like that movie. It was a bad rup off of Bram Strokers Sracula
Didn't like the look of Orlok in the new movie
That was my only complaint about it.
Egger’s Nosferatu sucked, not in a good way.
Just out of curiosity which version of Nosferatu is your favorite.
I liked it but I wish they'd kept the classic Nosferatu look!
Your opinion sucked. Not in a good way
The ending was garbage, she basically boinked dude to death.
We went to see it last night. It was a fully sold out screening and I can’t tell you how many people got up and walked out half way through. Visually, it’s stunning, but I found it to be so boring.
The new movie was mid, brams was much better
