its not about the no of gate. It's all about no of inputs your giving to gates Example : AB+BC 1) you use one AND gate to A,B 2) another AND gate to BC 3) output of these gates are given to One or gate. So, AND 1 takes (2 inputs ) & AND 2 takes ( 2 inputs ) and OR gate takes (2 inputs or output of AND gates ) . So answer is two
Question. This cost criteria is for... cost of what?? propagation delay time? cost to buy circuitary parts? or visual complexity? I want know what this is for.
I know its been 7 years but for future sake; its more of an abstract idea of cost efficiency. you want to minimise number of gates / number of variables etc when creating a circuit. so this just lets us compare relative to other designs which circuit is more or less more efficient in terms of time, cost of manufacturing etc.
This was incredibly helpful. Kudos for being concise and straight-to-the-point.
Sound is painfully low.
you Just saved my semester ... thank you
Wouldn't you count the ANDs as Terms?
The number of terms " gates " should be 3 not 2 !!!
2 and gates + 1 or gate = 3 gates

@@mohansaiteki8012 lets say you have this function F(A,B,C) = A, what is the cost?
@@htxdy Free of cost
thanks a lot xD

All of the above. Saves time, and more importantly SPACE

it was useful thanks
