NICE! Who would dislike this video!? The gains are awesome! Low boost nets 117 whp and the power curve is insane. Additionally, that Torque is primal.
So glad to finally see some decent mods for this engine. Can't wait for some to now do conversions.
I'll be putting a VK56 in my Nissan Xterra soon as the weight of the vehicle is drastically more now that it's armored, plus I want to pull a trailer.
A kit like this would make treks to high elevations (7000-8000ft elevation) easy. Especially offroading.
I have a 05 Nissan Xterra lmk if it was a good idea so I can do the same :)

I have a qx56, I would love to do this to my vk56DE. What concerns me though is the health of the automatic transmission. I'm looking for a very mild upgrade from the low end. Mainly for passing and accelerating with a loaded passengers and cargo. Stock 315 horsepower/235 kw is nice, but when the SUV is fully loaded the low end power is lacking.

Will definitely have some form of forced induction happening to my Patrol. I would be keen to learn the benefits and drawbacks on supercharging compared to putting on a turbo.
PD supercharger generally has much better low down torque, less lag in power delivery, better for offroading than turbo. Harrop are the business.
turbos are pretty efficient now, although, inlet temps get considerably hotter then supercharged setups & they generally require less maintenance then a turbo setup. me personally for what this vehicle is going to be used for, I would go supercharged, for out right performance and the kick from a turbocharged setup I would have it in something for more street/track type vehicle
First off is a supercharger kit is much cheaper and easier to install as there's much less parts, PD supercharger has instant boost and I believe there is less underbonnet heat. Downside of supercharging is they're not as efficient as a turbo system and suffer from heatsoak.
Another thing to keep in mind is superchargers hammer your bearings due to the load it places on the crankshaft

I'm a Hilux owner and I'm in love with these. The Patrol has always been a great piece of machinery. Use to have a GQ which unfortunately had rolled at 100kmh. Both rear windows stayed in and survived, back passenger windows (3rd row) popped out during the roll and didn't break, and the 2nd row windows survived despite the roof being on a 45 degree angle, fuck me I was amazed

I really wish this was available for the VK50 in the Infiniti FX50 (QX70 5.0L). I'm a hot rod dad with a $15k vehicle budget who's about to buy a FX50, can't find a better more reliable Man Van in the price range.

Will the stock gearbox handle this?
It will be fine. I assume they remap the transmission upping line pressures etc to prolong clutch life. The Jatco in these is a very heavy duty unit. After all it has to cope with 2.7+ tonnes of weight and a powerful v8.

Also, assume the dual intakes of the M56/q70 would be a custom project, and I'm pretty sure that roots style charger isnt going to fit under the stock hood

Thank you for offering a well designed and engineered SC kit for the VK56VD. Is there a chance that this is compatible with other platforms with the same engine? Very interested to see if this can be fitted to the current generation Infiniti Q70/Nissan Fuga with the V8. Curious to see if there'd be more interest in the US for the Y51 platform; we have an odd void for large performance sedans in the US. If more people knew there was a proper solution for the VK in the US, I think the M56 and Q70 would have a larger following.

I tow 8k lbs in a dump trailer, up to 5 of those loads a day with my VK56. I have been for almost 2 years. People at the quarry and jobsites look at me like I have 3 heads when I roll past with 4 tons of gravel being towed with my Nissan.
What’s the cost of a pulley upgrade and fuel stage two ? I couldn’t locate it on the harrop website. I’m running the 2300 on my Y62 and wouldn’t mind upgrading along with Remapping the oem ecu.

On the supercharger development
It supports the Armada (Patrol) variant and Titan models too, a global platform. Designing the parts isn't that time consuming with CNC/CAD technology available. Then it's a matter of tuning to suit. I am confident most of the cost involved will be recouped with the amount of total sales........

They're starting to be seen here quite often in the states. I'm guessing they are hoping to sell them to us USA customers. I came close to purchasing this vehicle, but really wanted the version you all can get, with the off road bits. Went with a LC200, but I swear that Armada has some serious appeal inside and out.
Well seeing as this engine is starting to finally be seen and used extensively in actual racecars I doubt they're going to have an issue. This engine is the new LS

There are LOADS of options for the LS/Vortec family. The Eaton TVS blowers are a common mod to LSs - they're what GM used on the LSA, LS9, LT4 and LT5 members of the small-block family.
