Read a history book. At one time, the United States cured alcohol problems by making alcohol illegal. Tjay action didn't cure alcohol problems in our society. It did cause further legal and social problems. Soon, the nationwide alcohol ban was changed. President Nixon declared "a war on drugs." We still have drug problems. Governor Ronald Reagan cured mental health problems by closing mental health facilities. There are still mental health problems in our society. Making homelessness illegal won't change the homeless problem.
They must go to homeless shelters. Many homeless refused to go to shelters in the past. The SCOTUS decision of a month ago said they can be arrested if they do not go to shelters.
Why wasn't that done before?? These people are homeless..... they are not trash to be discarded because the have displeased you. You don't know how to get it done, so don't feel the need to comment on it.
Two words for the "used car" salesman, "gasoline drawers"😂😂😂. The Chairman is coming to inspect his new real estate. What world leader bypasses the state department and goes directly to a "province " wandering around without security and clearance? They don't even hide the corruption. Make them homeless, then outlaw or hide the mess you made.
@justsayingfax that's my point. It's an industry. They budget 1.1 billion to the homeless, but now you have whole divisions of workers and 3 party business's that need to be taken care of. Now you have a catch 22 industry like big pharma, if they actually fixed the problem, they'd put themselves out of jobs and business. So nobody involved in working on the homeless epidemic actually has any interest in fixing it.
The ideal situation is where these homeless people are resettled in state-funded shelters (housing) away from the public gaze and are, simultaneously, provided vocational training (where applicable) and health services (where applicable). The burden, of course, must fall on the tax payers. The first duty of government is to care for the people by providing them basic social services when they are unable to help themselves.
Its nice to see media covering this. But you would think a reporter could look into where the billions of dollars have gone and how this problem has been mismanaged. Why aren't people more curious as to what their tax money is being spent on. We dont have nearly the homeless problem in my state but we do have a ton of mental health and addiction treatment centers. The people in the community need to care about each other enough to stand up.
California should be doing what NYC has done, and force these folks to live together in abandoned buildings, aka shelters, where they make their own place. It's the most populous state, they're going to have the most homeless. Bussing them out of state has ruined multiple states now. They need to get more serious about a short term solution, which may become long term, that makes being homeless less desirable. Because you can "camp" there year round.
@sebatinfo1904 No, it actually comes from our open-air drug policy here in California. People don't just start shitting on the sidewalk and engaging in arguments with invisible people because they fell on hard economic times. That's why the term "unhoused" is mostly full of shit. They would have you believe that housing prices pushed these people onto the streets. Now don't get me wrong, the economic situation in California is beyond bad, especially the cost of buying a home or renting. There are definitely some people on the streets due to poverty, not saying there aren't. What I am saying is that 95% of the people on the streets are there because of drugs and/or mental illness. All you have to do is walk by an encampment to see for yourself. And you're still not convinced, take some time to try and talk to some of these people. They will tell you the un-politically tainted truth of why they ended up on the street. Many will tell you flat out that they choose to be there as opposed to a sobriety enforced shelter, so that they can continue their drug usage. And if you don't care to put in the time to find out the truth from them directly, then you're just being disingenuous when feining concern for them, and really just trying to temp down any internal guilt you have about the entitled life that most of us lead.
They should offer them free housing and a job training program for those that are able. Then if they keep working and start saving money then they can pay a small rental amount for their home. It's worked in several other states.
If a Republican did this, you all would be flipping out at how insensitive this is and unfair to the homeless but when a Dem does it the liberal activists are no where to be seen

3 rich news women complain about the poors being seen. YIKES!

That’s BS. Gavin could have and should have done this before. Build a huge warehouse in the dessert, put AC. Give them all the amenities and drugs they want. It’ll still cost the taxpayers less than what local governments have been and failing at for years.
These ladies sound like teenagers not newscasters.
Where the fuck did the billions of dollars they threw at it last time go????
Why? He's not running for president, he doesn't need to pretend to care.
Not running … yet ….
He will be running for V.P... 🥴💰🤓
He got his marching orders from the DNC: make CA look decent to support Kamala's campaign.
Who here is old enough to remember the opioid crisis from the 70 and 80. Pharmaceutical companies were sued for making addictive drugs.
Long after robbing all that tax payer money.
I thought the scam would go on forever. The homeless advocates are thieves and never accomplished anything. It only got worse
So where does the 300,000 homeless people in California move to Gavin???
Back where they migrated from.
Homeless shelters --not our streets.
As a homeless person going to move into Gavin newsom's backyard with with pants that are covering piss
@justsayingfaxToo bad. Get a damn job!
@@LadieKadie That''s right. And stop drinking and doing drugs too.
200,000 homeless in California. How about addressing the problem rather than taking down the only place they have to call home. Other countries have eradicated homelessness, copy what they did!
They dont care. They want people to suffer
True many countries have free mental and health care..but the United States tend to make it a moral issue instead and blame 😮
They are. Send them to shelters. Home is not our streets.
Well the bleeding heart liberals demanded the asylums be closed, and now all the crazies have bred. This is exactly what they get.
We can send our tax dollars to fund illegal immigrants having a cushy life, but the second any US Citizen homeless person does anything to have a sense of humanity, the government does whatever it can to screw them over. Either start actually helping our people or give us our taxes back!
There is no audit of billions of dollars. Some organizations and the people who run them make a lot of money.
they should all relocate to his new neighborhood
its not governments problem to house the homeless. Homeless needs to stop taking drugs and go to work
Exactly 💯 but unfortunately some are mentally ill and will most likely never be contributing members of society
GOVERMENT PUT THEM THERE!?!! ITS ALL OVER.
they go to work but waste their time there so they get fired and keep taking drugs. drug taking is a decease not a problem that can be cured in many cases.
Then dissolve the state govt. Save taxpayer money.

As a person who put herself through college twice, became an educator, paid off all of my student loans (never made more than $50k and had no benefits… when I got sick from mold in my classrooms and in my rental apartment, I was so disabled that just taking a few weeks here or there to recover was insufficient. I had to take a leave of absence for what I thought was temporary disability, and then ended up homeless, because no money means no place to stay and no health means no way to work. I am now on disability after waiting three years, and I have been homeless for five years because there is no accessible housing for someone with my condition. I belong to lots of Online support groups of folks in the exact same situation.
Where are they sending all these people?
back to the midwest where they came from
To the Midwest and the High Desert 🏝️
We could send them to Tijuana. And without ID and verification to get back into the USA they’re gonna have to figure it out while there.
@@celebrityrog The yearly census of the homeless showed less than 1 percent non - Americans.......
Not the government's problem. They're just going to take the last little bit of what these people have and leave them worse off.

WHAT DID NEWSOM DO WITH THE 24 BILLION FOR THE HOMELESS????
WHY AREN'T YOU INVESTIGATING WHAT HAPPENED TO 24 BILLION. DO YOUR JOB AND FIND OUT WHERE THE 24 BILLION IS....
NOW WE CALL MICHAEL SHELLENBERGER! He ran for governor on the platform of effectively addressing homelessness and it was a brilliant, strategic plan. Sadly, no one paid attention this man. But if CA is really serious about responding in a SMART and compassionate way, it's Shellenberger's hour. He's our guy. Not Newsome, he needs to step aside on this one.
maybe the taxpayers that have left the state and are still leaving in droves are making it clear now in the $? People cant run fast enough away from Cali , even the real estate agents are selling houses in other states , they are in the bay area , pushing everyone to Denver
It took him long enough. W hat happened to the billions that were allocated ?

Finally something happens
This is because of the 6 to 3 Scotus decision of late allowing government to arrest homeless and put them into shelters. Thank you DJT.
@@eugenefirebird8938
Excuse me? Gavin decided to take SCOTUS up on it. It’s happening in every major blue city in the country. Rabid drug addiction cannot stand! It’s what drives crime!
Sue the states that refuse to extradite their citizens with criminal warrants. Arizona ,Texas and most other states are dumping criminals here. Take back your criminals.
Ask any cop...
All these idiots have active criminal warrants from other states and they won't take them back.
Hypocrisy clean for kamala my opinion
Correct, newsome started this shit, drop them off at his winery in. Napa California
If removing homeless camps makes homelessness illegal. How does that cure homelessness?
They’ll be put away where the upper classes can’t see them, so they can pretend the problem has been “fixed”…
Jails: the new home.
@ChaseSanchez-ym6eb Ugh.
This is the worst decision he could make. Shame on him
Don't forget this is a business for these people. LA country alone spends 1.1 billion a year on the homeless.
Well said, finally someone gets it. Living in the street should never be allowed.
FGN ! Creates a whole state of Homeless and now wants to Screw them even More.
The lower courts created homeless street living. SCOTUS reversed that last month.
This governor, Gavin newsom is something else, he’s the darn one but not the only one is causing the problem.
California needs to do itself a favor and get rid of Gavin Newsome… so happy I don’t live on the West Coast😮
His next office is POTUS. he'll be everyone's problem then.
This is SAD😢💔🙏🏿
Homelessness come from living gap no middle class in CA at all!
Thank God! It’s about time! I can’t stand Newsom, but I must commend him on this. We are all so sick of seeing homeless everywhere in California.
You and newsome are pro human suffering. You wouldve cheered as the funny mustache man put people in camps
Just in time for the general election in November

Homelessness is imposed on homeless by government.
They should offer them free housing and a job training program for those that are able. Then if they keep working and start saving money then they can pay a small rental amount for their home. It's worked in several other states.
Well rehab them first
No way should any of them get any housing if their rabid drug addicts.
Be assured that following this will be funds that they’re going to allocate.. always follow the money
