I miss how things used to be. We didn't care what the people did that made our games great, we just cared that they were good at it. I'm now in a fight fire with fire mentality by not buying games that have drank the Kool-aid but this sadly won't change anything. The normies always win and the product always gets worse over time because of it. My only hope is that there is a severe Atari like crash of the games industry again to knock things back to "We make the best games because it's what you want" not "We make this product to preech because it's what you need".
Hmm i think the normies killed gaming a while ago. This is something else thats changing gaming now. Still normies think that these remakes are good so yea its a lost cause in the end. We live in a dead timeline.
@robbyrhodes4572 FF7 Remake toned down certain elements like Tifa's breast size and some of the more vulgar things around the cross dressing portion (not gonna lie the dance section was pretty funny tho). GOT was pretty damn good but I'm hoping that rumor that was going around that Jin is going to play second fiddle to the thief woman in the second game wasn't real. Resident Evil 2 Remake was also really damn good but I was more excited for a Resi 3 Remake and they drove that one into the ground. Elden Ring is one of those special cases that I really have nothing to worry about. From hasn't given me a reason to doubt them yet.
Emm, Capcom doesn't hire labour union actors as a principle, cuz they sold out to the wokies. Would you want Leon to be narrated by Matthew Mercer, who now paints his nails like beauty salon women staff?..
@filippaustralovenator2.033 While normally I would agree that would be a problem, there are two things keeping me from agreeing with you atm. 1) The woke voice actors can sometimes do a good job and keep their politics out of their work (a la Mark Hamil, Troy Baker, Tara Strong, etc.) 2) Capcom has fired people who weren't part of the union because they talked to the wrong people. Reuben Langdon was let go from his long time Ken role in Steeet fighter because he went on a podcast with Yellowflash and the SF director got pissed about it. Curiously though the DMC director did not give one iota of a fuck and kept him on as Dante's VA so there is a duality of policies going on at Capcom but this is probably the exception not the rule.
@zeroredox8018 it's even sadder whn the OG3 was the intro title for some fans (like myself) into the RE franchise, hell even survival horror/zombie genre as a whole, tht game was my intro to it all 😢
I can guarantee you that these "modern audience" don't even buy or play the games. They're too chronically online to stop complaining and pick up a controller. Companies that do this are basically appealing to no one, while they're actual supporters inevitably get alienated.
People should just learn to separate art from artist. Reuben ain’t evil. People need to live in the real world and not on twitter. Hope he comes back as Dante one last time.
Ehh, i personally don't care that much about Reuben not doing Dante. I was bummed at the time, but after having thought about it I don't think Dante will suffer too severely without him. His performances were all amazing, and his first run as Dante in DMC 3 definitely shaped how we view the character, but I've shifted my outlook to more excitement. There are lots of people who grew up on DMC 3, and there are people who were inspired by it creatively. I'm hyped to see some new takes. tl;dr: It sucks that Reuben won't be doing Dante but I think whatever new VA they have will be cool :)
I'm still hoping he'll come back as the VA hahaha. I respect your positive outlook though. Let's hope the future of DMC is bright whatever happens to it :)
I've been really hyped for the idea of getting DMC 6 and even caring about the netflix anime, but without Dante's OG voice, I'm not so sure, a bit worried - and about re4re: I hated it, it didnt needed a remake - however despite all the negativity, I believe capcom is amazing as a developer and makes great games, even if the actor casting department has some serious issues
He's heavy left-leaning and is pretty anti-free speech (he keeps saying he's going to leave Twitter after Elon took over but never does it lol). He's also talked about his dislike of Conservatives and still goes on rants about Trump almost 3 years since he's been in office. He used to have a politics Twitter where he was more vocal about things but it seems that it's been deleted.
I really like your RE content but if you're just not feeling it I can understand, I don't think anyone would ask you to do something you dislike and you shouldn't pigeon hole yourself as an REtuber if you disagree with it. I agree with all of your opinions in the video, but I guess you have to ask yourself if the actions of the studio really diminish your enjoyment of the franchise to the point you want to stop all content about it or not. I'm fine with your decision either way.
Thanks for the feedback. Believe me, politics is definitely not what I started this channel for but unfortunately it sometimes gets injected into the things we care about whether we like it or not (such is the way of a business I suppose) so I can't make any promises that I won't make videos similar to this in the future. I don't plan on it right now, but if something happens with the games/franchises I care about in the future I will speak my thoughts on it because I care. Even if someone disagrees with my stances, I still think it's good to get alterative views out there :)
I get why you're bumbed, i feel the same way. Langdon IS Dante to me, always will be, just like Yong Bosch is Nero, or Hayter is Snake etc. Dont let political correctness deter you from Capcom as a whole though 🤞 They made plenty great games worth covering that dont get enough spotlight. Okami, Viewtiful Joe, Onimusha....
8:11 What you're referring to here is the sanitisation of media. Characters aren't allowed to actually act like people with their own views and way of speaking. Everything has to be safe. It's everywhere.
Gonna be honest chief, this seems like a big nothing burger. Sure it sucks that a Voice actor who helped mold a cool character got fired over some mediocre “controversy”, but jobs come and go, private companies have the right to make changes even based on PR reasons. As for the changes in dialogue to RE4R and RE4VR, honestly who cares, I genuinely don’t think 90s campy flirting really added anything to the overall experience and it seems very odd to focus so much on such a small change. I also wouldn’t even call that censorship.
You only ever see it in one direction is the problem. You show one slightly right leaning opinion and they yeet you out of your job. You cheer on BLM riots they turn a blind eye to it. Don't forget also they got rid Ada's voice actress because she wasn't Asian playing an Asian character so that made it racist somehow to some lunatics.
Also for someone who has only made 11 videos, it seems very dumb to be like I am gonna stop making Capcom videos, you realize you have years of Capcom games to cover, you don’t have to cover newer titles bro.
The common sense you display is courageous but at the same time ineffective because this modern audience demographic everyone's going after has learned through peer pressure not to acknowledge it
>Capcom is dying for me. Why? >Leon no longer flirts with his co-workers. >They removed the dialogue where Luis complements Ashley's tits. Ah yes, the West has truly fallen. @10:35 "No statement can ever be made, without someone’s feelings getting hurt". Yet you created this video to vent your hurt feelings due to "statements made in a video game". Your feefees got hurt because the SJWs took away your sex jokes. Capcom might be dying for you, but for Capcom, they have never been more successful. Its success runs in correlation to their efforts to modernize their content - i.e., the "wokeness" you're complaining about. So, I can agree with your final point, you aren’t the target audience - people who get upset when a few sexist jokes get removed from your video games.
Looking back on this video I do I think I could've worded my thoughts a bit better. Firstly, I was frustrated because longtime voice actors and dialogue are getting removed by the outrage mob. It can be frustrating for some longtime fans like myself to have these things in games we care about be dictated by the crowd that screams the loudest. Capcom isn't the only dev studio that's been doing that lately and I was sad to see them starting to bend the knee to it. Also to clarify, my feelings were definitely not hurt lol. I was frustrated for sure and disappointed, but not hurt. I have no problem with people venting their frustration, anger, or whatever for any reason. I do have a problem when they use that as an excuse to go after someone's job (twitter mob going after Reuben Langdon for his political views.) Anyway, I appreciate you leaving your feedback
If you stop playing capcom games because it's becoming more "politically correct" that's on you man, I haven't even seen fans of the og game get mad at the fact they changed lines. Also the game sold really well and is critically acclaimed so I'm sorry you feel that way over like 5 lines of dialogue
I think capcom stay the old way because who cares if you offend some people I love resident evil games I’m big fan for a long time resident evil 5 remake be dope
We need to fight back against Normies.
The bravery and authenticity you put out with this video is awe inspiring. Thank you for speaking out about your beliefs.
