finally someone who draws on the goalie mask
That ribbon looks so realistic! Nice work!
that is nasty, mad props man. Thats the only reason I wanted to play goalie just to rock a rowdy helmet, but then I decided that I would much rather do the shooting than stopping.
Absolutely insane, you deserved much more views!
Man!! that looks sick
Hello Ethan!
Frank and David are awesome artists. Just follow your dreams and never give up! I do this as a job, but not only masks, I paint everything and make some stuff digital, like custom wallpapers.

u should do some more and put them up they are so good
@HockeyLover567 Hi, I have been painting all my life but when I was around seventeen I started to paint with airbrush. So you have very much time to getting good at painting your own masks, good luck!
nice its REALLY cool
thumbs up for a sick halo helmet
Thank you! Looking forward to it.
thats sick!
Good paintjob
Master's work...
Yes I live in Sweden. Cool that you liked the mask, thanks man!:)
amazing work
Glad you both liked the mask and the music. Never painted a Social Distortion mask, would be cool though
@sundowncolcol Hey, great that you like the video. Okay, but you should check out the pens. They have never flowed out or something similar when I use them. Not after clearcoat either.
very nice !
Yes, free hand. Thank you very much!
thats nice
so awesome
that is absolutely awesome, a few questions though
1. after you are done the color work, do you clear coat the entire mask?
2. how do you prep the surface for the posca pencils?
thanks, looking forward to more of your work
Absolutely. The price depends on what is to be painted and how long it will take. If you might want something painted you can mail me for price.
huge respect, imagine he accidently crossed over colors.. just to many possible errors in the waiting..
that is so awesome!!! i still have not painted my mask..its a new white mask. if i just sand a little to get the shine off, is that all thats needed? Then draw on my design, then color in with posca pens...let it dry for 48hrs, then cover with 4-8 coats of clear coat? Do i have to "wet sand" it at the begining? Or just use like 400 grit paper? Please respond brother....I really want to try it :) thank you
So, did you airbrush matching color over the posca pens? Or just clear right over them? Awesome work! Keep it coming.
wow - awesome work brotha...how much did that cost your customer?
@razoramon989 Thanks dude. Sorry for a late response. Yes I clear coat the entire mask after I am done with the color work. I prep the surface by using fine sandpaper, to roughen up the surface.
@StanOfGB The brand name is Posca
@wheresmywatermellon Thanks man! Posca pens are very nice, shortens the time and increase creativity. I like to have contact with the surface when I'm painting, not like the airbrush. Nice that you suscribe, More cool stuff coming soon!
Thanks Nicolas!
You clearly have some experience painting goalie masks, very well done. You're probably inspired by artists like Frank Cipra and David Gunnarson (my favourite airbrush artist) who have many years of experience on their backs. I'd love to custom paint masks some day, and right now I'm designing custom hockey cards which is just as much fun! Haha.
Most artists say they use at least a week and sometimes more to finish a mask. Do you do this as a hobby or a job?
Hälsningar från Danmark.

Aivan tautisen hienot taidot miähellä. Oma oppisesti vai koulutuksen kautta päässy tuoho skillsettii? Keep up the good work!!
holy fcuk free hand? thats sick
@arttd001 I mixed the paint for the airbrush myself so I got a matching color. Thanks dude!
You mean the cage on the helmet? Never done it but there shouldn't be any problem
luxus!
so sick
you should make a video on how to paint a goalie mask.....please?
Thanks, yes you can use them instead of paint if you want.
@retrogazele Even with clear coat? Doesn't all color fade when they're exposed to sunlight?
Thanks Olivier!
I promise to check out your page and leave a comment!
sick!!!
Hey buddy, I just bought a new mask nme7, its all white and shinny. I would love to paint it red and white, obviously with some designs. My first step would be to just sand it alittle to get rid of the shine? Then to draw my designs using a pencil, them use the paint pencils to fill in. Does this sound right? Im scared to mess up a $400 mask
I either buy them in stores or order from internet. Just check them out on internet.
Cool:)
@MrChrisOsgoodfan I usually do it, but this helmet was ready to be painted when I got it. No preparation.
The brand name is Posca. Here in Sweden, they are not so expensive. I have no idea what they might cost where you live. Check them out on the internet!:)
very nice
I am working on doing my first helmet right now. (Actually on my second attempt of my first helmet)
While doing my base coat, the layer of paint got very uneven in a lot of spots. What is the best way to get these layers of paint even again?
Thanks man! I will!
Riktigt grymt!
Funderar på att göra något liknande på min egen, dock ett enklare motiv.
Har bara en fråga.
Hur gör ni när ni lackerar masken efter ni är klara med att måla den? (metod, produkter osv.)
What were you using to paint it? Looked like a pen or marker of some sort.
wow nice
@GoBlackhawk88 It was for a hockey goalie and friend here from Sweden.
Thanks Arina!
I as wondering what kind of clear you used? i want to do something similar but dont want to ruin the job once you get to the last step.
Hey, thanks! it works pretty well, I used them quite a bit on the Molly Hatchet guitar I painted. It is among my videos, check it out.
No stroke marks at all.
what were the markers he used? I'm wanting to do my own helmet and they look easier than air brushing
Tjenare! Måste bara säga att du är otroligt bra på det du gör! Har en fråga vad tar du för en lackering av en innebandymask?
He plays with it
Thanks man!
@Anubrogue Thanks a lot man, I appreciate what you say!
Thanks! There will be more
Thank you very much!
They dry solid
What type of markers are u using? Did u have to prep the mask jus as if u spray paint it?
Thank you very much
Thank you!
@madlaxer12283 Thanks! Great to hear!
is the mask was on primer or just white paint on it ? cause i'm trying to draw with a pencil on mine and it doesnt work ..! how many black posca you need to do a mask like this ?
Sorry for late reply. But I guess you know what to do now?
were you using felt pens!? I wanna paint my mask
Thanks man! Haha, yeah it's not fun to do wrong;)
Thank you very much!:)
What kind of pen was that you were using to do the coloring ??? Where can you find those ?
Absolutely, just email me if you are interested. Thanks
from my experience..posca markers fade alot in the sun..or uv.. but nice design,,
awesome mask can u make me one!!!!!!!!!!
any helmet mask can be done like this with out doing nothing to them as long as its white all you do is sand till the clear is gone if the mask/helmet are colored thats when you sand and prime them.
What supplies did u use like all of it
Thanks man
Hej! Riktigt snyggt vad heter pennorna mer än Posca pens, modell namn på dem? Samt vad använder ni för klarlack på masken och hur många gånger hade ni på de? Grymt snygg mask!
Thanks!
Does anyone know how well those paint pens hold up? Are they OK once the final clear coat has been applied? I'm assuming yes because this guy is obviously a pro but if anyone could clarify for me that would be great :) TY
Elizabeth Oba After applying clear coat these hold well. These pens are also used on surf boards and a clear coat is applied at last. But i have heard from few users that color chips in some cases, more on that if clear coat is not applied properly it drips during application.
@goalie1337 Nice to hear, thanks!
sick
Thanks, no my mother is from Finland. Im from Sweden.
No, the mask was already primed with white base when i got it.
