  • Kevin O’Sullivan says: “Captain Tom shot to fame during the pandemic, walking 100 laps of his garden and raising £40 million. I’d advise them not to appeal the decision to knock down the spa, because it probably wouldn’t succeed.”
“Tom raised the money thinking it was for the charity.”
Daisy McAndrew says that she “feels sorry for them”.
“The impression I get is of an ordinary family whose lives were utterly changed in a very short space of time. They were thrust into something that they managed very badly. They’ve made a serious of catastrophic misjudgements.”
The family of Captain Sir Tom Moore has been ordered to demolish an unauthorised spa pool block at their home within three months.
Hannah Ingram-Moore and her husband, Colin, lost an appeal against an order to remove the Captain Tom Foundation Building in the grounds of the property in Marston Moretaine, Bedfordshire, following a hearing last month.

Those books would’ve never have sold and made hundreds of thousands of pounds if he wasn’t so famous due to his contribution to the NHS.

She’s talking nonsense, his daughter robbed the dough. Pure greed, not like their struggling to keep the electric on

Its a start. I can't accuse this daughter of what I believe she's guilty of because my previous comment was deleted, but her and her husband should be facing charges for multiple offences.

They knew what they was doing, certainly do not feel sorry for them who is she kidding? It not rocket science you open an account and ALL PROCEEDS go into that NOT into the family business! They are scammers and should pay back the 800k from the books.

  • @PedrSion

It might be all over for them, but they’ve still got £800,000 in the bank !

    • @ViN-kr3ri
      @ViN-kr3ri 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +10

And I suspect the 800K is just the tip of the iceberg, and we only know about that because of the Piers Morgan interview.

AND the greedy 'I'm a VIP now' daughter, who took a fat salary and was about to increase that pay to three figures before the Charities Commission announced its investigation! AND, yet again, the additional hundreds of thousands of pounds the daughter and husbands hastily set up personal business, Club Nook, fleeced from the Captain Tom Foundation for countless vague 'services'. They are avaricious fraudsters. They saw a marvellous opportunity to get rich, quick, and drained good, kind peoples' donations. The investigation is still ongoing. That illicit spa and swimming pool was NOT intended for 'the local community. Daughter and her frequently-bankrupt accountant husband make me sick.

Isabel Oakenshot is talking rubbish saying she feels sorry for the family because they were thrust into the spotlight. It was the PR director daughter who put them into the spotlight because the Capt Tom walk, the foundation, all the merchandising, everything, was her idea.

I feel sorry for old Captain Tom - his well intentioned efforts were hijacker’s by his money and publicity hungry daughter and to keep the publicity rolling in she sent him on a Caribbean trip when he was 100 years old in the midst of a global pandemic and he “coincidentally” got covid and died within a month of the trip. Plus then his daughter has continually tarnished his reputation and name after his death with her actions like this “community” spa.

    I want my 10r back.
Tom did this for the NHS, in the moment people wanted to both recognise him and the NHS staff.
34m raised, unbelievable! He wrote a book with an introduction saying ‘how great it would be to raise more money’ (approximately).
The other half: sets up separate company almost instantly

The point of this morality tale is obvious, but I’ll state it anyway. How did something so inspiring, kind and fun as Captain Tom’s walk come to be such a tawdry symbol of greed and shame? A sorry sign of our times, at any rate.

i guess their self awarded entitlement ran out , i hope they appeal and use even more money as it will ultimately have to come down, what makes these people think they are any diff to the rest of the country that have to abide by the rules, they knew they'd never get permission for a spa this size and shape so they just didnt bother their arse applying for it, then when found out tried to tell authorities it was for the community !!! unfortunately for them their neighbours probably knew them all to well :)

Considering that their house has 7 bedrooms and there are 4 of them living in it, were they unable to find any space to run the charity from ? or could they not have had a small extension built on the house for that purpose ? Since when does offices for a charity need a spa pool ? its obvious they got greedy and did not expect to be found out.

Sad it has ended like this for the family... They clearly made some bad financial choices.. However for me, it won't tarnish Sir Captain Tom's good intentions & the light he shone on our nation in such dark times.
So perhaps in time we shall remember, that this family did play a part in making the good that took place in 2020 happen..
Yes, they clearly made some bad choices, but I feel that doesn't necessarily make them 100% bad people. ♥🙏
