It's better to close tag right after you open it and then write whatever you want to write inside it. Helps to make sure you don't have an unclosed tag somewhere and then your page doesn't work the way it has to.
@@alarmsquadnj well, once you have written a lot of code and had your share of debugging it and realized that an unclosed parentheses or the lack of 'end if' are common situations you kind of come to this idea. But I can't claim it as my idea, it's something I was taught in the college.

Help! So I did everything Eli did on my MacBook with text edit...saved as html BUT when I opened the document, nothing happened. It looked exactly the same way as I typed it :( what am I doing wrong? :(
Eli the Computer Guy yes...i saw that (thanks!) ...my issue is, my notebook defaults to saving it as txt. How do i get it to not do this? And if saved it as txt, how do i change the file to html? Because there is no “save as’ :(
