Great video. I have found that my fingers will not easily assemble the core in this fashion. So I like to build the cube in layers as the assembled portion of the cube makes it easier for me to put the core pieces together.
Lets see if i can describe it.
First, I assemble a cross of the the core pieces and build the bottom 2 layers. So, I only have to put 4 sections of core together without cubies. Next step is to build the horizontal circle of core pieces. At this point you can slide the core pieces into there slots and put the cubie pieces around and on top of them. I would start with sliding a large core piece virtically into its slot followed by the two corresponding small core pieces. By doing it this way you can use the existing structure to support these tricky pieces. Continue to build the middle ring of core pieces horizontally around the cube. Once complete, place the layer three pieces on top. (this is so much easier with magnetic pieces)
With the third layer complete place small core pieces into their slots on the side centres. Push them in as far as they go. Now take a large and small core piece and assemble a section of the core. It should be quite easy to get in as everything around it is very stable so you can use some force, also, you only have to manipulate 2 pieces as the third is being held in place by the side centres. Next build the core section across from the one you just made to make a line. (not and 'L'). Place the edge pair and corner pieces in place on both sides that have the core in place. Next put 2 centre pieces in on one of the open sides and slide a small core piece in its spot. Now take the correct edge pair and put the core piece inside them and insert all three together as you would and edge piece on a 3x3. Repeat this for the last edge pair. You may need to turn the top layer 45degrees to aid in insertion.

😀😀😀👏👏👏🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤Thanks. Yesterday, i disassembled my 4x4 windmill & i cant get it back. I slept and now i watched this because this core & it's internals is the exact same. Now i reassembled it and it took me more than a hour. So, the first step, by placing 6 sets of internals was so tricky and difficult to the point that i had to use tape to hold the pieces and then i removed them to continue untill i finally made it. I start by aseembling 2 edges core sections. Then I put the center piece in on the bottom, the 2medge pieces around it, the corner piece, and then the second layer in that corner section. After that, I put int the final internal edges in that corner section. Then I do the other corner sections.

Same, it was so friggin hard, then I popped my QiYuan again, but now I knew how to fix it and not end up disassembling the whole thing
I was trying to assemble a qiyi wuque, it kept popping out every time I tried to insert a piece, after that I loosened the spring and that helped ALOT.

can u do a vid on how to lube it, cause my qiyi wuque seems very stiff and when I loosen it, it always pops
+noodlechip. I lube the core just like on a 3x3. Play around with tensions, 1/4 to 1/8 turns at a time. Lube, i use a combo of dnm-37, silk, lubical one. Something fast! I do just a couple drips of each, not to over lube. That's why i took this apart, to wipe it out.

+BoxPie. Change the tensions... Tighten a little if they're falling out. Loosen, if they're Popping out. I hope this helps :)

shadow isbest yeah this happened to me too. The little bumps on the center internal pieces that make the core move with the outside pieces (the top bump at 3:44) prevent the inner layers from turning once assembled. Is it because there are special pieces with grooves that allow the bump to turn?

When I try to put in the pieces on one of the corner pieces one of the sides are the correct orientation and the other 2 are wrong
As long as you pair the edges. You most likely can solve it! Only if your left with ONE wrong edge, then you have to flip that single edge as a whole.

Check your color orientation.
If White on top and Green in front.
Red on right and Orange on left.
Blue in the back and Yellow on bottom.
it is only that one corner that is incorrect so i think the orientation is correct

I'm here because I let a friend of mine scramble it. It was in the hallway at school and she dropped it,causing every piece to spread across the hallway,and no one at my school really knows anything about cubes.So,because of this everyone looked at me and was like what just happened.So there I was on the floor picking up every piece that spread across the hallway. I didn't know if I needed to build the whole core then add edges,centers,and corners or if I needed to assemble it in a different way

+King Wangy. Humm.. Maybe loosen the tensions a little... Also. The cube already had a little lube in it. Lube probably made it a little sticky.

I used duct tape to hold some pieces in place im so close to giving up
Try adjusting the tension.
Tighten slightly if they are falling out. You can also get the pieces a little tacky with heavy lube. (Traxxas 50k) Should help.
