@@beatrice123ful I'm black not white , I already answered you with a bit of our history but somebody keeps deleting it , don't know maybe afraid of the truth .
@@Maceoman well you can’t say Haiti have nothing to do with this, Haiti is more connected to Africans more then other island in North America. The percentage of blacks in Cuba is relatively small. Some of them don’t even consider themselves black they be like I’m not black I’m Hispanic
i am quechua but i love seeing other culture's art and learning about them. the dancer did so well and i can tell theres so much power they hold with each step they take and in their hands.
I cried watching this. My family is from Havana and this is just beautiful seeing the culture. All I have left in my family is the beautiful strong Cuban women ❤️❤️❤️ keep dancing love
I am Nigerian Yoruba to be precise. always been curios and wondered why my language and culture is been practiced and worshipped in America. We were not taught this in Nigeria, rather we were taught to follow the white man's religion and lifestyle. i love Yoruba so much. love from Nigeria
the Nigerian Yoruba tradition was kept alive in Cuba, by those who were brought there as slaves. I personally do not practice that religion, but I so appreciate and enjoy all Afro Cuban dances, which came from the Yoruba Nigerian tradition.
Yoruba people were taken away from their homeland 300+ years ago and brought to a foreign land, an island named Cuba, where they were slaves. The White Spanish men tried to eradicate their language, culture and religion but were not able to do so and, thus, the Yoruba culture still thrives amongst the children and descendants of these Yoruba slaves. May their souls rest in peace.
during the Indian ocean slave trade Nigerian kings were the Main ones trading their villagers as slaves so most of them ended up in cuba,Puerto Rico, and the Dominican Republic as well as the americS.

About to say that
I love this. It's so feminine and graceful. I like when she hugs her dress like she is nurturing a baby.
Oshun is definitely proud of this beautiful dance
Remind me of Africa and Haiti, its good to see some Afro cubans keep their culture
Not "some" cubans in general keep their afro roots, as well as all afro-latinos..we are proud of being from the Africa diaspora ❤
Haiti has nothing to do with this , they come from Congo we afrocubans from Yoruba land , Nigeria 🇳🇬
@@Maceoman still Africans right? Nigerians Congo Haiti we are black Africans ok some of y’all white Cubans can’t claim this

As a Yoruba girl I feel my heart calling out to our common ancestors and I feel like I’m looking at a lost sister keeping our ancestors in her heart
Love the dance . She's classic in the way she moves. It's like I was watching my ancestors speak to me . "I understand "
