mainoo is not a pivot player and should be played in one of the 10 positions in this system not alongside ugarte. he started off as a winger in the academy anyway. he's main attributes is dribbling with the ball not having to win possession etc
we have centre mids though. mainoo is 19 still. no where near the finished article and so much time to develop. more worryingly we have been playing without a consistently fit left back for 2 YEARS its glaringly obvious what we need.
Both of them will be more expensive and probably not available until the summer unless someone bid silly money for them. His versatility is also a big plus, he could be better than both Nouri and Kerkez after a season or two.

I think it's safe to say that regardless of talent, his age will stop him from being used regularly whether he is ready or not. It's not Ferguson going on a hunch anymore, it's all these other teams involved advising the manager that he can't do it. That said ManU may have a better time relying on the enthusiasm and energy of academy players for two games than they would be relying on 'seasoned professionals' being able to understand instructions.
