Most significant part of his speech was referencing "those who may still be serving in vietnam" reagan was the only president to actively peruse the live pow issue southeast asia

Both my grandfather's served in Vietnam, it's not about a weekend off or a BBQ. It's not about price drops or special buys. It's not about tv shows or tv specials. It's about honoring th brothers and sisters that didn't make it home. RIP

There will never ever be another one like him. He was the best president of this once great country. He loved our country. He loved our military. When he spoke he spoke with heart. Just watching some of his speeches makes me cry. He was a man of character , honor and love. You'll be missed for very Mr.and Mrs Reagan.

I grew up in the era of "our dads as vietnam vets". quiet, subdued heroes who never let us in to what happened. I would like to say that I am proud of their service in an unpopular war waged and managed by politicians. They were following their dads' heroic efforts in ww2 and Korea and most signed up to be like their papa's. But somehow politicians didnt let them win even though they won 99% of the military conflicts engaged in. My heart is with those who served and their families. We honor and remember you. Politicians who prevented the "big win" in Viet Nam, I detest and loathe you.

By far, the best President of our time. He was the first President I voted for and who will go down in my mind, as the one President who was truly in touch with the people and what was best for America. 🇺🇸

Words from the heart of a president that not only believed what he said, but lived the ideals of which he spoke.

The greatest president of my lifetime. What has happened to this great country in such a short period of time?

The important thing, the most amazing thing, is that what he is saying he believes. It is not just some politician reading a speech about things they place no value in or saying things that they believe will earn votes. It is a speech that truly seems to come from the heart it truly seems, especially towards the end when he chokes up, that the words he is saying are truly those that he means. That sincerity is the most lacking thing in modern politics.

My hat's off to a great leader... and a great sacrificing soldier. America is poorer without them.

after viewing and hearing President Reagan's moving speech,
I return to the present and am embarrassed and disgusted by our current president this Memorial Day 2015. Obama has earned zero respect from me.

Comparisons are invidious, but I can't help but make the one between President Reagan's words and feelings in this speech and President Obama's decision to skip the Memorial Day wreath-laying at Arlington this year to go on vacation to Chicago. Someone needs to remind our current "Commander-in-Chief" that with privilege comes responsibility.

Will we ever ELECT a President that "Gets it" like President Regen did? How about a President that HONORS this country? Folks, it's US THAT MUST DEMAND a President, or any elected official DO THE JOB. We can gripe about the trash in the white house now,and I do but, its OUR responsibility to find a good one.
