This was so gloriously nostalgic and I loved it! Also, the fact that you were nine in 2005 makes me feel so OLD! 😂👵🏼

I must be a year older than you, since I turned ten in January 2005.

This was a lovely vlog :) I've never read anything by that author, but it's always interesting to see someone revisit books from their childhood. Especially when you're an adult and having a different understanding for the parents.
Also new author's notes in a reprint is always something I appreciate, how they view their own work a few years later :D

I am OBSESSED with the pink section of your wardrobe.
I agree Marigold is SO frustrating and some of the things she does are unforgivable. I think it's clear she is so desperate to find Mickey because she wants support so badly and, I feel it. She definitely knows she is doing wrong but her brain just isn't letting her think of the consequences.
HAHAHA the underwear dilemma living at home. My dad did get bashful about my lacy knicks when I was home but I am somehow completely unabashed by it all.
I love this vlog so much. There is so much problematic stuff in JW's books and I'm not sure how I feel about them as an adult. Because part of me is like, 'yes, that's how people are really treated and really talk', but then again I'm like 'you're not being explicitly critical of this language or point of view so are you just allowing this behaviour to continue?'

Hahah this comment made me lol so much! And I do own more than pink clothes 🥺 but they’re all in boxes 😂 I’m definitely glad I made the aesthetic decision to just display the pink ones though, it suits the vibe of my bedroom 😊

Love your new office, enjoyed this vlog! This lockdown is definitely hard, especially with the end looking like it’s going to stretch past March 😭 at least the days will be getting longer and that might help a bit

i loved the idea of this readathon, so much nostalgia and lovely memories wrapped up with Jacqueline Wilson books. your comment on authors notes sounds like such a good idea when it comes to her books. I actually never read the Illustrated Mum so i would really like to pick that up one day. i’m also looking for books with good mental health rep.

    • @LeanneRose

I’d definitely recommend The Illustrated Mum, especially as I’ve heard such positive reviews from bipolar readers!

I used to watch tracy beaker returns and the dumping ground when lily was in it. When lily alone came out I always used to think it was about that lily

My Mum Tracy Beaker implies that Lily was one of the girls Cam fostered after Tracy. It mentioned she was missing her sisters and brother and it stated she eventually went back to her mother.

I think I'd be afraid of reading Love Lessons now - I do remember thinking it was all wrong though when I read it as a child.
