I worked on that show from beginning to end and to this day on Saint Patrick's day I always put on the last episode so I could hear Danny Boy from Maeve.Miss that show especially the cast and crew, they were the best.
Hi Thomas, I noticed that you have stated that you worked on the show. I liked Ryan's Hope also and miss it. I have a collection of soap opera themes that I enjoy for my personal use. The one that has evaded me is a good solid copy of the final upbeat version of Ryan's Hope, both the opening version and closing version without any voiceovers. I have the early to mid eighties version, in excellent quality, but not the last. I was wondering if you could help me out or direct me on where to go? If there is a good solid quality of the early to mid 80's version, then there must be a good quality version of the last version out there somewhere. After all an orchestra had to make a full recording of it at some point. Please get back to me if you can be of any help and thank you for being part of a show that gave many of us many years of enjoyment. Brian Lavalle
And there you have it….that scene between Maeve and Jack is everything that great soap opera is all about. So many emotions, I cry every time I see it and knowing that it really was the end, I realize that what Maeve said came from Helen Gallagher s heart in real life.
Sorry, I wasn't trying to blow your anonymity too much. :) As an industry-savvy person, I tend to figure these things out pretty quickly. You should be proud of Dad, Auntie Eleanor and Grandma Claire for giving us thousands of compelling TV hours. Their work on GH and OLTL struck incredible chords during the 1990s, but Ryan's Hope will forever be a treasure.
Very true. Their love was the best-written love story I've ever seen. This wasn't just any ordinary soap opera. It had great writers and actors. I will forever miss it. By the way, if 28fairplay reads this, I would LOVE IT if you could post some more episodes. You stopped in about early May 1980 when Joe was considering leaving Tiso's organization. Things were really heating up.
This show was always so well-written and acted. General Hospital got all the love, but Ryan's Hope was really good. They lost me, though, when it was taken over by the Kirklands.
Since it was said, Kate Mulgrew snubbed the cast of Ryan's Hope in her books. I haven't purchased one, I don't know. I was wondering if the cast from RH, bought any of them?

I listen every year too. You know it was a good show when people still crave it.

Thomas Egan Kate and Ilene should not have left the show.
@@fkd1963 Kate's ego wouldn't let her stay.
Nice 😊👍

MY HEART IS BROKEN. Literally balling my eyes out right now
I cry every time I see that ending, too.
Same!!!!!

Jack Fenelli-Mary`s "most wonderful, most impossible love". Michael Levin and Kate Mulgrew had magical chemistry.

30 years ago today... 😢😢😢
So glad Mulgrew returned.
Kinda weird to hear Mary's voice over the phone...but otherwise great!
Micks could always make you cry.

She either didn’t mention them or made it clear she thought soaps were beneath her.
@@travisjames3517 Which all adds up to being laughable and hypocritical
@@travisjames3517 And by the way, I just found out decades later, that Ilene K was in a released adult film back in 1999.
Wow, how many cigarettes had Mary been through whilst in heaven? Or whiskey, maybe :)
Matt or Eleanor's kid?
I'm their brother, so no.
@@csedan510 I originally left the above comment when Matt's child commented on this video years ago. His comments somehow disappeared.

Tamara Grady! She was awest!
