Your math test analogy was a perfect description of what happened last night. The call should’ve been overturned. The ref blew what was happening right in front of him.
I hear every week on NFL broadcasts that all scoring plays are reviewed. This was a scoring play. New York should’ve reviewed it and overturned it.
The easiest way to change this and a lot of other bad referee calls is to allow coaches to challenge any play they want anytime they want as long as they not allowed to make make more than two or three challenges in a game. Make that the limit. I think it should be three.

Terzian was also the ref who got hit in the head with a liquor bottle at the Vikings-Cowboys "Hail Mary" game.

Was a horrible non call at the end did nothing but enforced the belief of it all being rigged.

Basically this matchup doesn't happen often, but when it does, it's randomly cursed to have garbage officiating.

As a Vikings we played a sloppy game. I don't believe we would have scored. But the officials were offal on both sides.

They need to make ALL penalties challengeable. I don't want to hear about disrupting the flow of the game or that it's a subjective call. You know what else slows down the pace of a game? BAD REFEREE CALLS! You know what elae is subjective? EVERY SINGLE INITIAL CALL ON THE FIELD! If the refs get it wrong, make it right. I'm tired of the excuses. We can see it at home on our fat rearends. They can see it at the stadium with the magic of video.

Exactly. Penalties are too expensive to be as subjective as they are called. Refs can absolutely change the flow of very close games.

Making it challengeable seems to make sense. Since the coach only has2-3 challenges wouldn’t delay the game much. But then you have penalties like PI that are very subjective. Clear evidence to overturn the call remember. You have automatic reviews on change of possession/ scoring plays, do they look for penalties also? Do booth reviews look for penalties every play to assist the refs? When IR was first instituted the idea was “get every call right”. They would stop constantly to the point it was ruining the game. 3rd and 26, 10 yard completion. Review it to make sure it was a catch!!!! WHY!!! They are going to punt either way. No let’s waste 10 minutes to “get it right”.

    • @jasonfischer8946
      @jasonfischer8946 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

@abnmp7865 The upstairs people are looking at every play anyway. If they see a penalty during that process, they should report it. If it is not caught, then it can be challenged like it is right now.

I agree that the coach should be allowed to challenge any play anytime he wants to. But it still needs to be limited to two or three challenges a game per coach. I think it should be three. Otherwise it could get very ridiculous. The Vikings were screwed last night against the Rams. I hear every NFL game that I watch the announcer says all scoring plays are reviewed. Well, this was the scoring play, why wasn’t it reviewed.
The grabbing of Sam Darnold’s face mask scored two points for the Los Angeles, Rams last night that put the game out of reach for the Vikings.

@shackdaddy7106 They should get as many as they want until they lose 2. Why should a team get screwed because the refs can't do their job?

Make the refs full time they can afford it. Like we can’t tell that the constant flag fests and zebra attacks are a soft protest. Enough is enough. See that Buffalo/jets Monday night game a few weeks back?

Just what I need after the face mask no-call last night. I am getting MAJOR 2003 and 2016 flashbacks… but as the playoff field increased to 7, there is NO WAY we miss the playoffs like we did THOSE years, when only SIX teams made it in… right?

To be fair, the Vikings weren't expected to do anything this year. They even were saying they could get the #1 pick they were considered that bad. Honestly, if this team collapses, it's not all that surprising when you consider what was projected about them at the beginning of the season. Hence, in all honestly, I wouldn't be that upset either as they were projected to only win 6 games or so according to Vegas. Not to mention that they did the same last year as they rattled off a few wins in a row, but then looked terrible the last few games. It's just when it happened in the season.

Instant replay started to be able to correct calls (change of possessions/ scores etc) that would affect the outcome of a game. When first implemented they reviewed everything. Third and 28, 10 yard completion was it good? Who cares since they will punt either way. But stop the game for 10 minutes to decide. So they limited what was reviewable. Reviewing penalties was a no go since much of it is opinion. Was that holding? On this play you have to remember where are the refs on the field. The two who would make the call were behind them. Black gloves on a black face mask (two fingers), but the rest of the hand was on the shoulder. His head was turned!!!!! Yes, but could they see why? I’m not blaming the call on the field. I can see why it wasn’t called. But this was a scoring play and the penalty was obvious. But what about if there was holding in the end zone? Once you allow a penalty to be called from the booth, where does it end? Then we end up stopping every play to check for penalties?? No, just the “obvious” ones. Ok what is an “obvious penalty”? You have to be able to define it. Trust me you can’t without including so many calls/ non-calls throughout the game. I watched games when IR was first instituted and it ruined many games with the constant stopping of play.

I agree that the refs need to be held accountable for failing to call the facemask call on Byron Young. However, would you trust Sam Darnold going 80 yards down the field with a minute and a half left, no timeouts, and needing a touchdown with a 2 point conversion to tie the game and send it to overtime?
The Rams still would've won without the safety but refs really need to be held accountable.
