One benefit of doing them later, after many have stopped, is that others who may not have been around during those challenges can see them and say "I want to try that!" and you get part 2 started!
And mental health care is not frivolous. I have been writing, embroidering and weaving a lot more often for my own mental health.

Roisin's Quill Very true! Manuscript Challenge part 2, here I come!
I realize intellectually that it’s not frivolous, but it’s hard to overcome some conditioning that doing enjoyable things is selfish, especially when people comment on your videos saying that you should be making masks and PPE instead of things like pockets that don’t matter (said person was summarily removed from my personal FB).

@@OpusElenae I understand. I had a friend receive comments like that as well when she was making her patchwork skirt. I hate that there are people who feel the need to police others like that!
I do not think what you do is frivolous and I thoroughly enjoy your videos. :)
      Stay safe!

Medieval Taylor's Assistant is one of the more incredible resources for period sewing. Love it, also that black cat barely in the scene there. Good vid, it's been a year, best wishes.

Background watching this as I work on my spawn's undertunic and I looked up and was like "Wait, how is the edge white now? That looks awesome." Went back and it's such a simple detail but it's so striking! Definitely borrowing that for my next hood. Thanks for this! And your hood looks lovely - I never really thought of using linen for a hood, but I'll definitely need to try it. I have very short hair so head coverings are a must for my SCA adventures, which in the increasing hot New Zealand summers can get pretty unpleasant...

I'm having the worst time in my life. I'm diving into makes to help me get through it and lower my blood pressure. Self care is #1, without it you're no good to anyone else. Love anx light to you! I absolutely love your channel. And....do whatever you want when you want. 😏
I'm preparing for a move up north and need warm clothing. I want to make lots of these hoods. I have a vision of some nuno-felted. That's wool and silk fibers felted onto silk fabric. The results are absolutely stunning, warm and soft too.

Aren't we funny creatures we hand sewers! I just watched you do just what I do - cut off a bit of thread to get a clean end to thread. But, oh no, no a few inches or even an inch, just the tiniest bit that will clean up the end. It is as if our subconscious is still way back when thread was hand spun and precious.😏😛

I know I'm a bit late here, but through the pandemic I've always got a million projects on the go. I have several quilts, and sock knitting projects on the go that I rotate through. One day I'll get my hexagon quilt done. It's only been ongoing for 10 years, but I have been sewing it all by hand so far.
