I love the chiming jump hour design - especially how there’s a circle in the minute hand that perfectly encloses the hour display window exactly at noon

I never understood the phenomena of woman swooning and even fainting at the sight of Elvis Presley, Mick Jagger, etc. until now. The ArkriviA watches demonstrate why Rexhep Rexhepi is regarded as a horological prodigy. The maturity of Rexhepi’s artistic vision is preternatural.

The "xh" in "Rexhep" (or in "Rexhepi" - it's the same thing) is pronounced like "J" in "John". When you see "Rexhep", just imagine as if it is written like "Rejep" with the "j" pronounced the same way like the "j" in "John".

Rexhep Rexhepi's heritage is Albanian (the “i” at the end of the last name “Rexhepi” is a proof of that), and his background is from one of the three areas in former Yugoslavia where Albanians live: Kosovo, western parts of Macedonia, or the deep south of Serbia. Chances are it is Kosovo, since the highest number of Albanians in former Yugoslavia live there. The name etymology comes from the Arabic word “rajab / rajaba” (meaning "respect"). But Rexhep is born and bred Swiss I am sure. His ancestors came to Switzerland sometime after 1966, since that was the year the citizens of former Yugoslavia were allowed to get passports and travel abroad for the first time after the WWII. Lot of Yugoslav Albanians moved to Switzerland from 1960-ies to 1980-ies, because of the country’s liberal immigration policies back then, since they needed additional labor force. Albanians from these areas migrate to Switzerland to this day, though in much smaller numbers. But, back then, the predominantly Muslim Albanians in former Yugoslavia, as a minority, were experiencing discrimination in a communist country inhabited by a vast majority of Slavic speakers, many of them traditionally Christian Orthodox or Catholic, though the religion was not very important back then (officially at least, unofficially it is a different story), because of the leaders’ communist background and the country's ruling ideology.

If the lug could curve down slightly more with curve strap so it sit better on wrist I think it would be perfect. Beautiful decorated movement 100%. I feel this watch can be the 1 watch collection.
