Ill be honest, i had to look up an article on the meaning of the movie after i watched it when it first released, however the article i read did a really good job on explaining it, basically it said the movies about a guy who hates his job but has been brainwashed into thinking that he has to be that "cold hearted unthinking killer" by those he works for, and its about him slowly slipping out of that mindset and embracing himself as a person, instead of an mindless drone, kindve as an allegory for someone who works for a black company (an abusive/exploitative company) being conditioned to think they way theyre treated is ok, but then they break free from that and become their finally live for themself Basically the movie sums up to a journey of self discovery mired in myriad contradictions Also, good video, well written and the editing/production felt like it was on the level of a channel with way more subs, im gonna go out on a limb and say this video will blow up soon
Oh, I just remembered another thing the article said that made a ton of sense after I read it, I remember it said something along the lines of this parallel of him being in a sort of abusive relationship with his work allows the viewer to relate to him, it makes him human, relateable, however due to the nature of his work and his character, the viewer also can't relate in other ways, because he's a contract killer, and someone who kills for a living is going to be fundamentally wired differently, as no normal person would be able kill for a living and be able to live with them self
