RIP to guitarist Tom Leszega who passed away in April, 2023. He's the guitarist in the middle, jeans and all black shirt. May God Bless Tom and his family!
I saw Brad Delp’s last performance, with his Beatles tribute band, before his death. He was absolutely amazing and one of a kind. Your vocals on this song would have made him very proud. It is indeed an honor to be compared to him and you compare very well.
Completely agree. Randy nails it! I would love to see LLB cover Boston's "Can'tcha Say (You Believe in Me)" because it's an awesome song with a fantastic bass part, and I would love to hear/see Randy play it.
As a musician of many decades and doing it for a living for most that time, I gotta say. These guys are absolutely incredible musicians. And everytime I watch a video I'm always so impressed how they nail the tones. Nailing tones of such iconic songs is NOT easy at all people. Not at all. And every song they do is a huge risk. If you don't do it very well, you will get slayed, ridiculed and bounced right off the stage. They don't do it very well. They do it 99% perfectly. Every song. And whoever does the mixing is obviously pro level. Must be someone in the industry that has some real experience in mixing, engineering and mastering. Also, the video quality and editing is high level pro too. Love seeing what they'll do next.
Anthony - I agree w/ you. As a mediocre guitarist, a good singer with an avid ear for quality tasty material, one area which I find extremely beneficial to Lexington Lab Band are the correct ensemble of instruments. They "are" using the right instruments to gain the right sound. Well done!
I was looking at the Boston album cover several nites ago n was stunned to discover what I thought was spaceships on there is in fact Guitars and the Word Peace is the smoje😂🤣and I’ve had that album for years!
This was my dads favorite song before he passed away. After he died I struggled (and still do) with losing him but I played Boston’s version (live, studio, demo, etc.) everyday and for 4 minutes it felt like he wasn’t gone. Fast forward and my wife was pregnant with my daughter and she must have heard peace of mind so many times before she was born that it calms her down and helps her sleep. Anyways, yesterday I played this video for her and she calmed down just like Boston’s version and if that isn’t the ultimate compliment I don’t know what is. Great work from your newest subscriber!
Same. I used to play bass many many years ago and since then the first thing I listen for in a song is the bass line & he nails this one right on the head of the nail! Actuallu the whole band did,
Def Leppard and Boston are among the hardest to cover because there are so many layered vocal harmonies and guitars to the production. That this band can reproduce both bands with such precision really is quite impressive.
Has everyone noticed that many of these great covers bring back specific memories at specific times in the listener's life? The power of a great song can never be underestimated.
The year was 1978. I was a senior in high school. My best friend Steve White came to school one day and said "Mike, you have to hear this album!" The group is called Boston. The album -- More Than a Feeling. I had never heard anything so good. I turn 62 in March and STILL haven't. As a trial lawyer now, I have a ritual before the first day of every trial - Crank up Boston"s "Smokin" and "Rock and Roll Band!" Thank you again Steve and thank you LLB for the incredible memory!!
Seeing these guys is like seeing Boston, Journey, Hall N' Oates, Doobie Brothers, Van Halen, etc, in their prime. They sound AMAZING! I'd pay to see that concert if they're ever going to tour. You don't just get one band but the best from all those legendary musical masters. We may not have Brad Delp, Eddie Van Halen, or Darryl Hall's voice around any more (sorry Darryl) but these guys recreate the magic of their heydays..
Love this cover version. Ladies on the high harmony......that is so sweet sounding! BASS is dead on....but I am biased as a bassist...lol. Guitars got that Boston dual tracking guitar sound and the distortion and delay is just right. Drums with great time and driving bass in the pocket. Lead vocalist got a great feel. The mix is wonderful and the Tom Scholz guitar pick drags is all Boston.
@@stevedrake604 Ever seen how many cameras they use? Also, the performance is recorded and remixed just like all video sessions. Any way you put it, they are fantastic.
What kind of strange, wonderful world is this where I sometimes prefer the cover over the original? Is that even allowed? You're messing with my mind, LLB.
And to think Tom did the original all by himself (with Brad's vocals) down in his basement. Just a remarkable achievement. If he had known these ladies he would have used them too. Such beautiful harmonies.
Loved Brad's vocals. Side note, Tom didn't play the drums, a Jim Mar-something (can't remember his name) did on the demo. When Tom signed w/Epic, they told Tom, anybody but that drummer. So Tom got Sid Hasien for the 1st 3 albums, then they had a falling out. May Brad and Sid rest in peace.
Tom did not "do the original all by himself" in his basement. All of Brads vocals were recorded in a big name studio under the direction of producer John Boylan. Sib played drums on all of tracks but one. Jim Masdea plays drums on Rock and Roll Band. Barry plays electric rhythm guitar on Foreplay. Barry plays electric lead and rhythm guitars on Long Time. The huge power chords on Longtime are played by Barry. Fran plays bass on Foreplay. All of Let Me Take You Home was recorded in a big name studio by the band members as pictured on the back of the record. Tom has not been the most transparent and forthright person about how this record came to be and who did what along the way and giving credit where credit is due.
@@neechee5150 Tom is a strange bird for sure. You may be right, but whatever he did, or whoever he used, he still created an incredible sound on that 1st album (and the 2nd and 3rd).. The guitar, bass and organ are phenomenal on their own. Liking Boston is almost like being a punk, it is a defiance of the system. We see the rejection Scholz has endured from the snobs who control the industry. Yet I see so many musicians cover this music who seem to relish playing it. And I have a lot of band and concert t-shirts and my Boston T gets as much attention as any when I wear it out.
Well, actually lots of bands do. On TH-cam one comes to mind, Jay Sekulow's band (yeah, that Jay Sekulow, conservative hero and the scourge of the ACLU). But I don't think anyone does Boston better than these guys!!!
Yeah, love the doubling on the lead. Tom didn't do that live. He played it solo, although on album it did sound like two leads, which I guess was done in studio. Just lovely. I wish they'd do0ne More Than A Feeling.

Brad Delp's voice was one of a kind with near unmatched power and range. It takes guts for anyone to try and sing this song... 👍
And not a bad attempt. This band's covers are so authentic, it's a joy to watch them recreate the original sounds.
