  • Here I continue with the struggles of facing off with the fully loaded Steel Striders and make an aggressive push deep into Twin Guard territory. My mainstays of the series have been serving me well, but facing off against end game designs with frail wooden ones has turned into an additional challenge.

One way of compensating for stability in ciws is to add fins to your shells. As stability adds inaccuracy that is then multiplied by the inacurracy multiplier. Tracers are quite helpfull too.

I didn’t realize those modifiers applied to instability. I kind of wonder if that was an oversight, but I’ll have to try out tracers on CIWS again. They didn’t used to be necessary for most use cases.

@@bungalowbill521 I wish we could choose the color of aps shells without using a tracer component.

@@DarkKinou Back in the day APS and CRAM shells had coloured tracers depending on their payload. That made it easy to identify with what you were being shot at. I kinda wish they would bring them back...

I think they should have active and stationary repair tentacles. The stationary repair tentacles would be just the regular repair tentacles except they don't work if the object they're on moves above a certain, very low speed. The active repair tentacles would be much more expensive and they aren't as efficient in their repairs as the stationary ones, but they can repair ships moving at any speed.
That way, you can still have repairs in combat, but it's more balanced without making all repairs more expensive.

I think designs that are so broken and are not de-spawning are fair game to be Ram-botted.

My rambot’s legs have atrophied due to disuse.

Repair tentacles could be bigger so it's easier to hit them and cost power to be active in combat. So it's still possible to use them on dedicated crafts like repair drones or CVs but not as simple to spam them.
