PR Rog's record in this game is very impressive if you consider he doesn't even like or play this game too much. He's consistently Top 5 in all the tournaments he takes part on. But those comebacks from Justin are just too godlike. Dude is amazing! Hype grand finals!

PR Rog is the master at choking. Idk why I expect him to win anymore. I get hyped for him and he pretty much always chokes when it matters.

I gotta say that Justin Wong winning shouldn't be something I'm rooting for. I heard about how he was a really cheap player who won all the time back in the 90s and 2000s. And since he just won EVO, it shouldn't be surprising--nor thrilling--that he won here.
But the thing is, to me, Justin is not a cheap player anymore. He plays a team that's decidedly mid-tier. It's not the best in the game, and just when it was starting to look like Marvel was dead because of too many Morrigans, Magnetos, Dooms, Vergils, and Zeros, he stepped up and ALMOST won EVO 2013, then won EVO 2014. He is--almost single-handedly--keeping this game alive. Maybe in a few years, if he's won EVO four more times, I'll be sick of it, but right now I'm rooting for him. :)
***** I wasn't referring specifically to Marvel Vs Capcom 2. I was talking about his early days with Street Fighter, where he was extremely lame. But somewhere around the release of SF4, he got fed up with everyone playing Ryu and decided to pick up Rufus just for something DIFFERENT.
Having said that, Cyclops might not be the cheapest character in the game, but he IS in the God tier. And his other two characters were Sentinel and Storm. Literally NOBODY played outside the God tier in that game except maybe for Megaman Steve and Clockwork. At least, not if they wanted to win at all.
Sonicisbadazz people who call tacticians like Justin lame are annoying. Pretty much just means you aren't a patient fighter and want to go in and not think at all
bob loblaw0413 "Cheap" and "lame" are not really what I meant. That was a bad choice of words. My apologies. I actually don't personally have a problem with patient zoning types, and I wasn't actually into the FGC back in the 90s and 2000s. I was just paraphrasing what a lot of OTHER people felt about him. He won a lot, they got sick of it, and they disliked that he did whatever it took to win. I PRESUME that meant he played the tier list. If I'm wrong about that, I apologize. And I agree that the word "lame" isn't really a fair word to describe tactical, patient play.

on the low attack comment:
killing a character in marvel isn't that crazy, it's only 1/3 of the team, and with a team like pr rog's, losing your point still leaves you with a shell that is fully capable of winning any match. if anything i think it's crazier a character like dudley can get 2 reads and take a round in a much slower game like sf4. also, without spending a few bars, getting a kill off of 1 low attack usually requires a TAC which can be broken

Balrog got TOO excited and lost. He should control his nerves. (And exchange Vergil)
Vergil plays too much to PR Rog's strengths. Covers a good amount of space, good amount of damage, Both Dimension slash & spiral swords hyper combos almost always force the opponent to peel back on momentun....and to top it all off, XFactor levels 2 & 3 are more than enough to win a match.
Even though Wolverine, Doom, and Vergil are used by a lot of people, Eduardo plays them in a way that's tailored to him: absolutely nuts.
He's really good, that's a fact. The problem is that I keep remembering his team Felicia Team and I wish he could go back to that. haha
Persia is really good at being a commentator. She needs to do it more often.

Sometimes I don't get balrog, he states that he doesn't like umvc3 all that much and doesn't spend that much time training in the game and yet he still gets this far in the tournament. Still a great match and it was a nice perfect to watch
That's because he doesn't like the game, but it's easy money for him to enter a marvel tournament because he almost always can place top 8. He doesn't practice marvel at all but he's still a god and the nuttiest player out there. He just knows he can make it far in marvel tournaments because he is simply that good.
Good GFs, but..am I the only one who felt this whole set was a bit off? As in staged to a certain extent? I've seen both of these players do far better than this & there was just an abnormal amount of slop from some of the best in the world.
