But Conor knew what was up, he was speaking the truth. Faber never managed to win UFC gold, but he is one of the greatest Bantamweights in the history of mma, and probably the first great Bantamweight champion, and he was pretty good at Featherweight as well. I still remember when Faber beat Cruz in their first matchup in WEC. It's Aldo, Cruz, and Faber hands down as the guys who set the standard for smaller fighters below Lightweight. The UFC is such a stacked promotion with so many guys that are more than capable of becoming champions, and Faber had to deal with champions like Aldo, and Cruz which was a very difficult challenge to overtake when they were at their best. Faber fell short many times, but he still proved he belonged in the cage with those great fighters. He's kind of like the Bantamweight version of Cro Cop, or Wanderlei as far as his accomplishments, and longevity in the sport of mma as a whole.
This season was an absolute banger everyone on here was crazy skilled and getting finishes left n right definitely one of the best seasons hands down when it comes to the fight’s themselves
