    As a 62 year old lifelong "constant reader" (though I'm several more recent novels short of reading everything he's produced) I have to acknowledge the pleasure this guy has provided through his work. 40 years and counting!
    Live forever Stephen.

      Primus 777 Have read King constantly for the last few years, trying to catch up. Gotta ask you what book is your favourite, which do you think back to while taking a walk etc? Gotta say mine so far is 22/11/63, needful things, christine, stark and the long walk!

    This book disturbed me more than any other of his works, the ending is depressing and scary especially because it could be true. Just as we harvest chickens or mink raising them every single one into a miserable life and a cruel (in the case of Mink) death so too maybe in death we too are harvested in some 'process' overseen by something greater.

      I found the ending particularly disturbing . None of his other books seemed scary at all ( except It ). But that one left me... bothered.

    Revival was, as everything else this man has published, absolutely fantastic! It's always a joy to pick up a book with King's name on it, because you know the quality is going to be top-notch. The man doesn't seem to have any bad writing days or books that he thinks will be good and just aren't. It's just that cool.

      I'm really enjoying "Revival" so far myself, but while Stephen King is definitely one of my favorite living authors of all time, I do not agree that everything he writes is a masterpiece.
      "Firestarter" and "Cell" were decent reads, but nothing more. Also, "Duma Key" (mostly due to hackneyed pacing and poor characterization) was incredibly boring up until about the halfway-point. "Joyland" was so boring I couldn't even finish it.

      Michele Shets Probably the part where no matter what kind of person you were on earth that when you die all of us go to the same place to serve the ant people while the ant people serve something else. Pretty creepy lol

    • @batmench10
      @batmench10 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      What was really chilling for me was the notion that our hero will spend the remainder of his life knowing EXACTLY what waits for him on the other side and will have to come to terms with the unimaginable terrors waiting to consume him (and indeed everyone he knows and loves) when he crosses that great divide. It's such a grim yet perversely life-affirming ending.

      That ending chilled me to the bone, if there's a possibility that the afterlife would be like this then it would be a very creepy unsettling concept

    Where does he get these inspirations? Frankenstein? Revival is fine but Frankenstein! My MOM loves this. And, she never met him. How come this guy always is a few inches away from glory when my mother is continuously blocked by him? How come he knows what she wants to write. She is going to sleep now. She lost all hope. Good Luck with your story and BTW you didn't miss much without a father around, your success says it all.

    The only book I ever read of Stephen King's was On Writing. I do not pursue the horror genre. Another book has been written with the same name. Revival by Rodney Howard-Browne. I will read THIS BOOK with anticipation!

    Revival by Stephen King is as story nice to read, but i don't believe that kind of healing is possible. But my knowledge is limited, of course. Strangely, i don't believe much in the supernatural elements in Stephen King books or any other horror supernatural authors' books. But i believe in supernatural, the kind whose rules, i think, we cannot grasp completely with any methods. I strongly believe that dreams are important in such supernatural interpretations, for i have had several dreams that have given me messages i believe coming from the one and only God. There are other signs too, which we can see with mind's eye.

    When we are filled with understanding, we'll know, presence in heaven with God, is where we want to be. Exercising disobedience robs us of His blessings. Obedience causes God to step forward in our life. Disobedience makes him step back to let us have our way. Don't miss your blessings

      @@skmusic2944 Same here, to be honest. Revival appears in my thoughts at least once briefly every day. But i've come to the conclusion that potestas magnum universum can't be what it is in Revival. I believe that 2 + 2 = 4, and that the entity behind this perfect, absolute logic has made his Universe righteous and good as well, and that love isn't a dream, or a cruel joke.
