Good luck to both of you. The first day is always a shit show. I was the first to get yelled at when I started. I actually almost made the mistake of reaching out to shake the RTO’s hand before I found out he was an RTO (Recruit Training Officer CA TALK). Do not give up. Stay under the radar. Don’t be idiots, we had military guys who messed around a lot. That drew wayyyy more attention to them than they wanted. Stay focused, find and MAKE time to study. DO NOT GIVE UP. Your main goal is to graduate from the academy. There are men and women out in the streets who need you as back up. Nothing will be handed to you. Do not give up. Good luck and stay safe!
GS Extremes could help for the people who get sweaty easily (I am one of them) and have the ear cups become saunas during the summer. They breath a lot more then the other two.
The Peltor Rangeguards are a vast improvement over those Peltors. One set of batteries and one knob for both sides and the batteries are in an external compartment.
great video! i've been confused about this for a long time, and this helps me in my selection process. i'm a big believer in this technology, as i'm a bsee that specializes in mixed signal devices. analog to digital, and d to a. these devices work on degenerative feedback loops. they sense a spike in amplitude, and the send a corresponding downward signal (like opposite of an amplifier) to suppress the sound. it really does work, but requires a fast enough sample time to make that happen. it would be really awesome to see how fast that happens, and i would recommend that you approach audio precision in bearverton, or, to see if they would be willing to run them through some tests. i bet they would do it. if you need some help with that, let me know.
The bluetooth ones would be great for hunters I use a pair of MSA EHP I love them but I can't find an adapter for the radio cord so I can't plug it into my phone
Starting the academy this week. You are a true inspiration. Thanks for everything!!!!!

I've used Peltors for 18 yrs. They are fine, mostly because they are issued to me ;)

GS extreme sound amplification and even just the foam are rough with your shooting 30-06 or anything in a magnum caliber rating.
