You never talk about the pcr test, and tbh, the swab test isn't really accurate unless you have blisters or sores , and some don't even have those during the culture test (swab test), so it will just appear negative, so definitely do the blood test or pcr test better.

There's never going to be a complete zero on your test, so if it was equivocal it just means they couldn't get the right number. I wouldn't worry, but if you feel, you can talk to your doctor and get retested.

My partner keeps telling me that he tested negative. But I keep asking him if they performed a culture for 1 and 2. Is this necessary. You can try Western Blot test. If even that one comes out negative, you're probably good. Of course, talk to your doctor for a professional opinion on the matter.

Yes, he can still get it. Condom usually doesn't cover the whole area where an outbreak occurs, so since herpes is transmitted with skin to skin contact, you can still get it. No, antivirals won't cure herpes. They just help it stay dormant and when you happen to have an OB, it will be less severe and won't last as long as it normally would

You can get herpes anywhere on your body. It's pretty rare to get it in the eye, but it is possible. But you'd have to come into direct contact with it, which is pretty impossible from a coworker.

They usually don't test you for herpes unless you specifically ask for it, so make sure you got tested for it. If you would touch someone's sore and there would be a cut or a break in the skin in the place where you would touch them. It's skin to skin, so you have to come in contact with the virus in the area where a person has it.

No, if you have herpes on your lips, you have oral herpes. I think the confusion comes from HSV1 or HSV2. The first one is usually referred as oral herpes and the second genital herpes. However, they're interchangeable. I'm curious to know how easy is it to catch herpes.
Example if a male wore a condom and the woman is the carrier can he still get it?

Yes, he can still get it. Condom usually doesn't cover the whole area where an outbreak occurs, so since herpes is transmitted with skin to skin contact, you can still get it.
It is possible to never show any symptoms at all. But, if you do, usually it's 2-14 days, but it could take years to get the first outbreak.

I’ve never had an outbreak, I normally just ask my doctor to run a serology panel because I am sexual active. She found the antibodies. Also if I’m taking the medication every day and retested within 3 months will it show negative during a physical. If your CBC is negative

No, antivirals won't cure herpes. They just help it stay dormant and when you happen to have an OB, it will be less severe and won't last as long as it normally would

Hey, just out of curiosity, I work at a hospital ( in the office part) and I have one coworker that have herpes ( I forgot which type) and another one who keeps saying she have infections, but doesn't want to say. So, my question is... can you get herpes anywhere else other than the main areas? I heard you can get it on your hand or eye. Also, if I touch their hands accidentally or something, can I contract the virus? Can a piece of paper or any non-living object be infected and transfer to me? You can get herpes anywhere on your body. It's pretty rare to get it in the eye, but it is possible. But you'd have to come into direct contact with it, which is pretty impossible from a coworker.

What about fordyce spots for men on genitals? I haven't had any outbreaks but did have unprotected sex once. then got fordyce spots 4 months later. They mostly match the color of my skin except for 2 or 3 that are a little white colored. No symptoms. It's been like that for maybe 2+ weeks. No change in looks.
Also what are transmission rates from infected female to male? Some websites say it's low like 4% but others are much higher.

They usually don't test you for herpes unless you specifically ask for it, so make sure you got tested for it.

You can be completely asymptomatic. Many people don't know they carry the virus, because that's the case for them. If you tested positive and never have any symptoms, it means it lays dormant in your body.

Got oral recently, had a condom on but I noticed a bump in my pubic area. I honestly think it's just an ingrown but I'm going this morning to let the doc look at it. Do symptoms pop up the same day of exposure? I noticed the bump after i got home that day. 15 to 20 mins after the sex happened.
That's probably way too early. It usually take at least a day or two, and even that is fast. But, of course, we're not doctors and cannot diagnose you, especially not with that info.

No, if you have herpes on your lips, you have oral herpes.
I think the confusion comes from HSV1 or HSV2. The first one is usually referred as oral herpes and the second genital herpes. However, they're interchangeable. And sadly, when talking about safe sex regarding herpes, there's no way you can say your ex didn't get it from you. Not saying she did, but condoms offer only little protection and we can always viral shed and not know about it. A lot of misinformation comes from the fact that people think they can only spread the virus in certain circumstances, which is simply not true. You could be shedding while being on antivirals, using condoms and live healthy life.
