They are Indo-South African. Please don't call them just Indians. It's like telling black Americans that they are Africans. They still keep some of their cultures and roots but they are of different nationalities and please respect that.
I mean, they're as Indian as one can get. American africans are completely deracinated, they not only can't speak their mother tongues, they don't even know where they are from. Their names are also not cultural.
In contrast, this family is nearly unchanged compared to Indians.
You do realise that Indo Indians are also Indians and actually they are ethnically Indian who came to Malaysia or Indonesia when Malaysia was under the influence of other countries?
They settled there and eventually spread throughout the whole borneo Island... That makes their Nationality Indonesian but doesn’t make them malay/ Indonesian by ethnicity... Same goes for their current nationality and ethnicity... They are Africans by nationality but indians by ethnicity
Their root is the indian subcontinent and not Indonesia
Also there is nothing disrespectful in calling them africans or indian cause they are indian and african not Indonesian anymore
