I believe it all comes down to what resonates with you when meeting your stars and planets. But there are certain signs the Earth Mother will give when changes are profound. Being aware of Earth changes gives us true knowledge. Chinese astrology is very keen to this, relating to animal qualities. I enjoy your chatty talks.

I take classes at Kepler :). It’s online. I believe they used to have an in-person campus, but now it’s all online. Highly recommend it! They also offer webinars, some free some donation-based-in case you wanted to dip your toes first ;).

I realize it's kind of silly, since the whole point of astrology's inception WAS prediction. BUT, Idk. I just don't believe in hard fate like that. I think the future is there, and you sort of reach for it in the haze of life--but you always have choice. My Sagittarian spirit prohibits me from believing anything else!

From the research I’ve been going through, it’s been an eye-opener, to say the least. What we have accepted as correct in terms of astrology is wrong. Western astrology uses the tropical system which is based on a seasonal chart. It's inaccurate for natal charts since it's off by 30 degrees or so. We have accepted a system that doesn't accurately show our true placements. Sidereal is the system that accurately uses precession. This gives our proper placement more in-depth and not cookie-cutter like mainstream astrology. Most Everyone's SUN SIGN IS ONE SIGN OFF!! Mainstream (Western, Tropical Charts) don't account for precession. So if you have accepted your sun sign as let's say Sagittarius, most likely it's actually in Capricorn. I want to be clear, I'm not bashing you in any way. I’m only expressing that we as a society have been fooled into accepting a faulty system that lacks alignment with our true sign, aspects, and everything else. Check out the channel MTZ astrology.
I am aware of precession and the astronomy that goes into calculating the systems. I just simply do not follow sidereal. The cool thing about astrology is that you can choose a system that you like and study it--just as you and I have done. There's no one right way to do it. You can get an excellent reading from an excellent astrologer--in any of the different branches of astrology. And additionally, there's no need to go around telling people their method is wrong lol. I just don't understand the purpose. You don't knock on people's doors and tell them their religion is wrong and that you have a better one that is more "right." I mean, unless you're a Jehova's Witness. Maybe you are.
Robert Hand’s book explains the aspects better than some of the ones I’ve read that were JUST about aspects. Honestly. To really understand aspects, you just have to get down to the basic meaning-the mathematical relationships between all the signs. Once you get that really well, it’s easier to apply it to specific planets in signs. You gotta feel it in your bones 😂. It’s intuitive at that point.
