I had an abusive man in my life and I didn’t know it until I was 3 weeks pregnant. Friends asked me “what are you goin to do?” asking if I was going to have an abortion. I couldn’t fathom it. It felt wrong, sinful, unclean.. and I was “New age” back then (although I’d been raised catholic up to high school). My daughter is seven now and she’s so full of life. She has the twinkle (in her eyes). I thank God for her every day. A friend of mine once had an abortion, and she was never the same. Ended up dying from a brain aneurism years later. She had carried that abortion with her, in her mind. She never settled down and had kids. Nothing had been working for her so she lived a social butterfly life hopped up on ADHD meds instead. But she was a good person. Makes me angry to see how many of us women are deceived by “women’s healthcare.”
