I'm a highschool student going into algebra 2 honors. I met my teacher today and he basically said it is insanely difficult and if you don't work hard you'll be left behind so I decided to try and learn all of the basics on my own. I found your course and 40 minutes in I understand everything so far. Thank you for making this so clear and easy to understand! After watching the whole thing and working through it I'm sure I'll feel more prepared for the class! ♡
Math isn't really hard, it's more tedious. You just have to work lots and lots of practice problems. Grab a work book such as Schaum's outline for intermediate algebra. You can find the pdf for free by searching on Google. Work all the problems while watching the video and you will ace your class.
Great you can do it ! hardwork and you will be there Remember Rome was not built in a day
I'm in honors algebra 2 and its the easiest math ive taken since like 5th grade.
I'm a homeschooled student and I've watched 80+ hours of your courses. Thank you so much! This has been great.
currently learning the whole algebra 2 course before school starts to be ahead THANK U FOR THIS VIDEO
I'm an older student that took a lot of math classes in high school and did pretty well. I've been out of math for a very long time so I figured a quick refresher would do me some good. I thought I could breeze through this video in a few days, but it took me over a week to get through everything. All your videos are incredibly detailed, thorough, well put together, and easy to understand. I wish I had you as my high school math teacher! I took my time with this one because I know these fundamentals are important to understand moving forward. After this it's pretty clear I need to get through the College Algebra video next, and take even more time with that one as well. I imagine it will take me over a month, but well worth my time. Thank you sir.
I'm glad you are finding the videos helpful. Grab a workbook or use the practice video to reinforce the concept. You can search on google for Schaum's outline elementary algebra pdf or Schaum's outline intermediate algebra pdf and usually find a copy for free.
I am starting 9th grade in less than a month, started this video because I want a solid foundation for my math class since I zone out often and end up not taking notes which leads me to spending hours trying to do homework everyday without the concept or notes. This video is great, learned more from the first 25 minutes than my math teacher taught us for the last 2 years since it is actually very well explained.
I am a HS math teacher in Arizona. I really need to thank you because your videos are helping me to keep my job every year so that I can put bread on my family's table. Thank you!. PS: I am not a good math teacher, but this is the only thing that I know so I can put bread on my table.
Thank you so much for making this, I am heading into 9th grade and I'm taking Algebra II and this will help me so much. My 8th-grade geometry teacher said that Algebra II will be difficult and he wasn't sure all of us would make it, hopefully when I start freshmen year that I won't struggle like I did in geometry, I am so grateful for this video!
Barely started this video yet but excited to watch it, it’s amazing that this is available. It’s summer vacation for me right now but I’ll be in Algebra 2 once school is back and wanted to prepare for the course so it would be easier to understand and such! Glad this video is here ahah
I've watched almost 100 hours of your lessons. And what I can say about that is so amazing especially if you are a self-learner!
this is so helpful as someone who’s struggling in algebra 2 ❤️ thank you so much for your slow clear and patient tone- i’m sure it can be hard since you’re super well versed in this math!!
This video is absolutely phenomenal! After graduating high school 10 years ago, I have finally decided to resume my studies by pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering. My math skills had become very rusty with the passage of time. Going through this video and your Trigonometry video has been instrumental in getting me back up to speed so I can focus on studying higher level math, while having a solid foundation to build on.
Amazing video!!! It's so great that something like this exists for free. Along with the site, the tests are a great complement to the lessons!! Well done and keep up the good work!
Thank you! I start college as a first year freshman on August 29th. I just chose my classes today and Algebra 2 was one of the classes. I graduated high school in 2015. NO MEMORY of how my Algebra class went back then but from my transcript I had a B so I guess I wasn’t too bad in it I’m just scared so wanted to refresh my memory.
Good luck!! Just make sure you do lots of practice, it's the only way to learn.
Thank god I found your channel honestly this is the best discovery of all time on the internet, the most beneficial for me, thanks a lot GrenneMath
I actually finished my second semester of algebra 2 and they won't give me the other semester immediately. This is going to help me a lot. Thank you!
I have watched your Pre Algebra, Algebra 1, and now watching this..
Just started college Algebra this week.
Just want to tell you THANK YOU so much for your videos. Again, thank you!!!!! You have helped me so much.
Decided that I wanted to get into AP Pre Calc next year, but needed to freshen up on concepts Algebra 2 before I can. Your video has been very helpful!
I am starting 7th grade and though I know this won't help me for this year, for yet it won't be taught untill at least high school, I'm still glad I got the opportunity to learn it. thank you for making this video.
1:50:00, a cool way to memorize how to work out distance time rate is to use d/rt sort of looks like dirt. Whatever your unknown gets taken out of d/rt. Say i want to know time for a problem, I'd take the t out and left with distance divided by rate. If i wanted to know distance I remove the D and left with rate times time.
Im super behind in class right now and ive been trying so hard to find something that will show me how to catch up and what exactly ive missed, I think this is the closest thing that will bring me to success so far, thank you so much for this video.
I cant believe this is free, thanks for helping me prepare for my economics courses next year :D
Amazing stuff. I haven't been through it but the amount of subjects and time in the description tells me it's worth looking into. I wanna pursue my dreams and it needs math, ty sir.
I wish this information had been on TH-cam back in 2007 when I was taking this class in high school. Back then you were lucky to get a single 5 minute video making sense of this material at all
I believe after watching all your vidoes my math fundamentals would be strengthened so that I can learn other topics and write the Sat. God richly bless your good work.
just started 10th grade taking this course, thank you!
is the material you are learning in school in the same order as listed in the video?
8 hours in and this is a really helpful course. I am watching this and the Algebra 2 Practice Full Course to thoroughly review all Algebra 2 topics. Thank you for this course! :D
I'm glad to hear you are practicing, that is the most important part. Good luck!
I just finished the whole course! Thank you so much Sir! Your courses are making me smart, haha! God bless you with all the kindness and hardwork you've put through just for us to learn. I'm now moving forward to take your trigonometry course.
I have to take Algebra 2 as an online summer course and this is helping alot!
I'm about to begin this A2 course. I completed the A1 course last fall in 10 weeks and I've been practicing ever since.
Can't wait.
I'm glad to hear you are practicing. The College Algebra course might be better as it covers more topics. Good luck!
@@Greenemath i still miss things here and there, but overall i feel confident starting A2. Especially now that i know how the curriculum works.
@shannonmcdonald7584 As long as you are practicing you are going to do really well. Good luck!
I was going to go Algebra 2 with Honors trig over the summer, but seeing the size of this video it gives me more confidence I can finish it before summer ends.
At beginning of this year my teacher of algebra 2 get COVID and I feel like I losing many so I happy that a find this so I can study on my own way !
Im doing 1 or 2 sections per day. This is like day 10. This is all pretty simple so far, mostly review. Ill definitely take a look at your other courses eventually!
1:55:44
Does it matter whether you do (p/2) - w or (p / 2 - w) as a whole?
p = 2l + 2w
Solve for l:
p - 2w = 2l
(p - 2w) / 2 = l
You can also write this as:
p/2 - w = l
@@Greenemath Thanks for the speedy reply! I'm only about 8 hours in but I was wondering, do you have a final exam available for this course? Or do you know of any good algebra 2 finals online? There are so many '-'
I have practice and quizzes built into the full course:
greenemath.com/AlgebraII.html
You can also just get a work book like Schaum's outline for intermediate Algebra.
i believe its great how you explain stuff from algebra 1, in case viewers forget
A lot of people who use my courses haven't done math in a very long time, so I think the refresher is needed. Thanks for the nice comment.
haven’t taken algebra 2 yet but i got a SAT coming up this will help me so much!
I’m taking a harder algebra 2 class then my friend( on ramps I think it’s called) and want to study it during my break to hopefully be able to understand it in the classroom. Thank you for posting this video!
25:29:29 isn't it the fact that sqrt(a^2) = |a|, not just a? Just test a = 1 and a = -1, the answers will be different.
Yes, the square root of "a" squared is the absolute value of "a" by definition. In this section in every textbook, we assume all variables represent positive real numbers. I actually mentioned this in the course when we started talking about radicals.
sqrt(a^2) = a, if a ≥ 0
sqrt(a^2) = -a, if a < 0
"It's a great book for Algebra 2. Since there is no official definition of Algebra 2, I can't really answer if it covers all topics. I does cover most of the topics of a typical high-school level Algebra 2 course and is an excellent book for self study. The teachers edition just means it includes extra explanations and more solutions. You can definitely still use the book for self study." Thanks, do you have any other additional good books would you like to recommended to me me
That book should be good to start with, if you need a work book you can check out the Humongous book of Algebra problems or the Schaum's Outline for intermediate algebra. Both contain step-by-step solutions, which can help a lot if you get stuck.
Thank you so much , I will take accelerated algebra 2 which has a combination of honors Precalc and honors Algebra 2 in 9th.
sir im from iran and im 18 , i cant go college because its so expensive , but like to learn AI and its my dream, i search the whole internet but all lesson is splited and not finished , and i see this course, now im going to start learning algerbra 1,2,college, and its all because you sir, thank you very much why? because you make lesson for free and thats what im looking for and i cant pay any cent on any lesson cus in iran you cant have any paypal or visa, im soo thankful sir hope other people like me see your lesson, please make full course calculus
Welcome to the channel, the great thing about math is you can study for free. There are tons of resources to study any math you want with just an internet connection. Good luck with your studies!
What does the 1 in 1:11:16:44 mean? The video is 44-second, 16-minute, 11-hour and WHAT long?
Thanks for the video! I’ve been doing Edgenuity for the last few years, and I was given both the 1st and 2nd semesters to do at once. Quite confusing. Glad I found your videos!
i’m gonna be a freshman taking algebra 2 glad this video was made so that i can study it during summer
This is really helpful to me! Thank you so much. Are you going to make a calc 1 and calc 2 video like this?
Probably not anytime soon. Thanks for watching and good luck with your studies.
Finished algebra 1 video and learned so much now starting this and I'm already excited!!!
Bro thank you so much. I struggle a lot with math and this video is perfect. I’ll be reviewing it!!
Thanx for your great controbutionvto education it helps me a lot look at your question at 2:44:18 there is a mistake the selutions should be 8 because it should be 24= (x+3)+(X-3)+(X)
The setup and answer for the word problem is fully correct. I even checked the answer in the video. Go back to 2:42:21 and think about what's going on.
@@Greenemath you were right my mistake thanx for your controbution it helps me a lot
Thank you so much, you dont even know how much you saved my education. I went homeschool this year into a program that I was unaware was "ahead". As an 8th grader, I took Algebra 1 and did great. I was super confident that I would be able to succeed in Algebra 2 and maybe even go ahead a little. I got my text books and my work only to realize I dont understand what in the hell was happening. My school taught me terribly and I had no idea what to do. I couldnt retake algebra 1 because my transcripts said I had an A, so i was stuck. I spent so much money on Algebra 1 books so I could teach myself. During this time my parents also got a divorce. My first homeschool year was spent going to a different house every 2 days, behind in classes, and screwed math wise. I essentially had to take 2 math classes in the span of one year. With every thing going on (divorce, school, ended up getting bullied heavily) I fell into a depression and stopped doing school. My parents were to busy to realize I was not doing anything. When my mom saw nothing had been done since January she was upset. I was forced to take every single class all over again over the summer on my own. I would spend 10+ hours a day since May redoing classes in my room. Just a week ago I started this video. If I spent 5 hours a day, for a week, watching and reveiwing this video on Algebra 2, I could complete it. At the end I understood 95% of everything I learned and ended up getting a B+ on my math exam. One more failed class and I would be held back. I cant thank you enough for making this video and saving my education. I will not make the same mistake next year and I super appreciate this. Have a great year ❤
I'm glad the course is helpful. With math, you can improve a lot from just working a few extra problems each day. It adds up very quickly. Good luck!
This video seems really helpful, and it is perfect to look back on it after my class. I am currently in the 10th grade taking college algebra 2 and even though the video does not have all the collegic aspects my teacher uses it still contains valuable information that makes learning this a lot better! Thank you so much for making this video :)
@@SierNotsruht Use context clues, the answer it right in the second to last sentence.
33:40:57 The equation above, y should be in the second parentheses right ?
Yes, that is an error. The second set of parentheses should have been (y - 2)^2. Thanks for pointing that out.
@abuubaidah5427 I don't know how I missed that, unfortunately, I can't fix it in this video.
@@Greenemath not a deal when you're making a +34 hour video, really appreciate your work
Im just now getting back to relearning this course and there are things that I've never seen or done in HS. I plan on studying trig after... good luck to myself
I’m taking geometry rn but I’m skipping alg 2 to take precalc so this is a god send. Thanks
Going into freshman year of high school and gonna take Algebra 2, decided to check this out cause why not
32:16:00 shouldn’t the answer be simplified to -3 log(2) / log(2/5)
Logarithms can be written in many different forms and still be the same. Your answer would use the quotient rule for logarithms to simplify the denominator log(2) - log(5) = log(2/5). You are free to write the denominator that way if you prefer but there is no rule stating that it is required. Good luck!
4:11:13 what happened to that -2b, did it just disappear?
The original left side was:
b + 8/3 - 2b
Combine like terms:
b - 2b = -b
New left side:
-b + 8/3
This was e x t r e m e l y helpful considering how I have to teach myself for 9th grade, but this made math more fun for me. :)
2:06:04 okay so i tried to do this on my own and when i tried to isolate z i also got z-az when i subtract az from both sides and z-az is not equal to az-z, can someone explain what im doing wrong?
I'm not entirely following, since you didn't really list out all of your steps. Can you write out your equation and show me your steps. Then I can step in and help out.
Look at 1:01:09:03 the results of 5 * 5 * 3 * 3 * 3 != 625 = 5 * 5 * 5 * 5 * 5
SO the answer should be 5 times 3 to the power of of one over 4,
or did I make a mistake again
The answer given is fully correct. You are working with a fourth root. Just go back to the beginning of the problem and go step-by-step. Notice that you have the fourth root of 3^4, which is 3 and the fourth root of 5^2, which is the fourth root of 25. The denominator is a 9, so you can cancel a common factor of 3 between numerator and denominator.
@@Greenemath Your math skill is amazing great job and thank you for your response wish I was as good as you are
@Jan Tromp No wishing required, just do lots of problems. The whole key is to practice as much as possible.
TH-cam Chapter markers would be very helpful. The content is much appreciated!
The video has chapter markers in the description and the pinned comment. TH-cam can't display 80 chapters in every browser because it doesn't have sufficient room.
You are the best, my teacher is not good at explaining how to solve quadratics and polynomials.
So you mean to tell me there is an Algebra 2 whole year video on yt? School has me trippin thinking I gotta do this shii in a whole year 😂. Thanks man, much appreciated this helps a lot
This is my one of favorite channel in youtube and I appreciate your hard work and your valuble time you put here... I also want say, If there is Linear algebra, calculus 1, 2, 3 and differetial equations subjects, This channel will be the best channel in youtube for maths...
Thanks, as far as the other topics, you can just search for them on TH-cam. Lots of options.
1:08:02:51 "you cant do it!" That rule really got me haha
The time marker isn't working. I think because it is in terms of days and TH-cam converts them into hours and minutes.
@Greenemath ah. It was at the lesson with logarithms, I think change of base rule, and you were trying to divide the logs with a base
What website or program do you use for your video lessons? Id like to know so I have an easy place to work math on digitally.
All three methods graphing, substitution, elemination of systems of linear equations, when we solve x, y, z, we are finding where equations intersect? even there are three equations with three variables? And do we need to have 3 equations if there are 3 variables in a equation in systems of equation to solve equations, using above three methods? I meat can we solve using only 2 equations if there are 3 variables in a equation?
Using the methods of this course, you need the same number of equations as variables in order to get a unique solution. When you get to linear algebra there are additional methods that will be available.
@@Greenemath All three methods graphing, substitution, elemination of systems of linear equations, when we solve x, y, z, Are finding where equations intersect? even for equations with three variables?
With two variables, you are looking at the point of two lines intersecting. When you move into three variables, now you are thinking about each equation as a plane. You can search for three dimensional graphing in algebra. Most algebra books have a small section on it. Here is a page from open stax:

Sir ! It was really really helpful I get full marks in my class 👍 really worth video
Hi, awesome video. I'm not sure if you covered this since I skipped through some of this video, but did you mention that the sum of the roots of a polynomial is -b/a and the products of the roots c/a? If so, could i have a timestamp to that part? Thank you
I cover polynomial functions in the college algebra course. Although I do discuss how to find the roots, I did not discuss what you asked for above.
I just started learning logarithms and exponential equations, could you refer me to the exact time segment and or topics I need to learn prior to doing logarithms
The chapters are in the description, the lessons you are looking for start with #68. Good luck!
Thanks for this amazing job sir. Am not good at math and I have to know Algeria, Calculus and Algorithm in my program. Is this video clip right for me to start with?
using this because i zoned out after unit 2 and my regents is on monday
If you have trouble paying attention to a video, you might find reading a textbook is easier. That is what I always did to study as I find lectures to be quite boring and space out constantly.
really great explanation i'm a college student now i went back to learn algebra 2 because i had annoying gaps in my math knowledge , i just have one question when using synthetic division is there a way to guess what's the best binomial to dvide the polynomial by (so that we can know if it will result in a remainder of 0 )
Serious question. I am trying to move my way up to calculus. If I can do everything in the first hour in my head without needing to think hard, where in the video should I start? Don't mind watching all of it, but I also don't like wasting time :) Thank you
It would be impossible for me to tell you. If you want to get into calculus, you'll need to take college level algebra and trigonometry as well. It's way faster if you just get a textbook and do some reading and then work the problems. Try openstax if you need a free one. Good luck with your studies.
@Greenemath Fair response. Apologies. Though, I did realize fairly quickly that I was past this. Turns out I already know Calculus, just didn't realize it (I was a traffic collision investigator but I honestly just thought it was Algebra I was doing). I looked up the calculus videos and when those were familiar, I finally got the joke.
Hi thanks for the video it really helped could you make a video in the future about everything to study for the sat ? Thanks

I am trying to test out of Algebra 2/self study the subjects - do you have any tips? Would this video and a lot of practice be enough to prepare me for Algebra 2?
No video is enough to completely learn a math subject. Here is my advice. Get an Algebra 2 book, I recommend Intermediate Algebra by Lial. Also get a workbook, I recommend Schaum's outline for intermediate Algebra. Both books can be found in the internet for free by just searching for the book followed by pdf, or on Amazon as a used book for a small amount of money. Once you have your books, start reading, practicing, and watching the video together. In other words, start with the written lesson, then watch the video lesson, then do the practice in the workbook. That should be more than enough to get an A on any Algebra 2 test.
Thank you so much .I completed algebra 1,2, matrix algebra .please upload precalc & trigonometry
Thanks for watching, it will be a long time before those are uploaded. There are many unfinished sections and lots of practice sets that require step-by-step solutions. I would say maybe sometime early next year at best.
This is revolutionary. This course is going to help millions of students in the future.
Hello, so I just got the book "Intermediate algebra" by Lial/ Hornsby/ Mcginnis just like you recommend me the on some other comments in some other videos I commented on, does cover everything in algebra 2? Also it said this is a instructor edition, so does this mean i won't be able to use this to self study?
It's a great book for Algebra 2. Since there is no official definition of Algebra 2, I can't really answer if it covers all topics. I does cover most of the topics of a typical high-school level Algebra 2 course and is an excellent book for self study. The teachers edition just means it includes extra explanations and more solutions. You can definitely still use the book for self study.
Im about to be a freshman and i am taking algebra 2 and pre calculus. Is pre calculus very similar to algebra 2? Because i want to continue watching this video but I dont want it to only help with like half of the year.
It really depends on the school. The college algebra course contains all the topics from algebra 1, 2, and pre-calculus. You can start at lesson 73, which is where most pre-calculus courses start. Good luck!
Hey, Thanks for your effort behind these videos. I am just brushing my math knowledge before I start studying in university I just completed Algebra 1 and I was planning to start Geometry but didn't find your video on Geomentry. If you did made video on Geometry please share link for it or If you don't have any video on Geomentry can you please suggest me any video lecture on Geomentry?
Glad you like them! I haven't made any geometry content at this time, just search for a geometry full course or playlist and you will be good to go.
