  • In this video I show the knitting needles that I use and the storage solutions I have for them.
For circular knitting needles I tried a few methods and finally settled on one that I ACTUALLY use. Now I consistently put my needles away so I can always find what I need.
    To borrow from Atomic Habits:
    This storage solution is:
    1. Visible (By having it visible, that is the cue that reminds you to use it)
    2. Attractive (in the sense that it is appealing to have your needles organised and easy to locate the right one when you need it)
    3. Easy (Takes seconds to put needle away and the needle sizer in the pocket adds to this - no barrier if the size isnt marked on it or you cant read it)
    4. Satisfying (nice to not have a basket of unsorted needles)
I didnt use an actual tutorial for sewing the Hanging Circular Knitting Needle Holder, but i used these sites as inspiration:
    happystitches....
    ifinallyhaveti...
    The total dimensions of mine are 70cm x 22cm (27.5" x 9")
Each section where you slide a needle though is about 3cm tall (1.25").
    Thanks so much for watching!

Thank you so much. I think pretty much anyone with a sewing machine and some scraps of fabric can make one. :)

I saw Jana of Finnish Knitting stories with a hanging needle thingy so I copied it but was not fond of it's appearance, I hung it in my wool wardrobe. Out of sight. Perfect x

As long as it is easy to access and organised, i dont think it has to be on display. x

I bought a hanging circular needle holder years ago and actually ditched it. I use labelled pencil cases for my non-interchangeable needles, but since discovering chiagoo interchangeables several years ago, I almost always use them. Everything about them is so good. I almost never use by straight needles these days.

Love this! Currently I’ve been putting the needles back into the packages, but I’m not sure how long that will last.

    • @mostlyknitting

It is a good strategy but I found i really wanted the cables to smooth out and they didnt do that as well if i put them back in the packet. That, and i ended up with too many packets...

Great idea😮I need to buy a set of dpns (suggestions please).I also love the clear round glass containers that you have for bits of wool❤

    • @mostlyknitting
      @mostlyknitting  2 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

Thank you so much. For dpns, I like my wood ones as i am usually using them for icord with only a few stitches and I want the slight grippiness of the wood (and the lighter weight compared to metal) so the dpns arent sliding out of the stitches. I am pretty sure the set i have are Knitters Pride. Maybe this link www.knitpro.eu/en/double-pointed-needle-sets
