thanks Jessica for putting your heart and soul into your music. You inspire me to sing. Keep spreading the human love girl, your music is so real and true from the source:)
Just wow. That southern twang, punk hair, yet in a metallica shirt? Be still my beating heart! What a gem. And that latw night, hollow sound so full of heart... just, WOW!
"Writing is a way to get all the bad stuff out so I can be alright." 13:24 If that doesn't tell you that she's pouring herself into her music, I don't know what does
This comment is so strikingly dark to read in light of the recent subject matter for her next album. May she be blessed w a speedy recovery of body & mind
not a fan of punk styles ..or recreating past music .. but her guitar playing seems to be its own thing ..very fresh!!! sparkly sounds :D and i really can appreciate that
ah yes john .. the term / type / "idea" of punk i was using is the soft superficial "music genre" kind. so i agree .. this is not actual punk. not even close.
To me, punk is a mindset, not so much a sound. Look at Nirvana. They weren't a punk band, but people could classify them in that category, since they had punk sensibilities. Even further back, The Who could have been classified as punk, even though they technically weren't, since they set the stage for punk in the '70s with their ethos.
Narcissism is the pursuit of gratification from vanity, or egotistic admiration of one's own attributes, that derive from arrogant pride. Google works great for finding out things.
Damn! I love how she can take a nice low sweet sound and then fucking make it dirty and grotesque. Something that I would hear from bands like pixies, mudhoney, or early nirvana songs. OMG im in love with this band. need better vocals though, screem or something lol.
Yes, the bass player is her violent ex-husband Jesse Newport. When I saw her play a year ago she said her two dogs had been "murdered," but did not say by whom. Hmmm, I have my suspicions! She cancelled her appearances last fall opening for Mitzki due to ongoing personal stuff she was still dealing with. A lyric in the song WTF on her latest album says "Get outa my house." I read that she was having to take legal action to get him to move out of her house in Nashville area. I really hopes she is okay and can be rid of him for good.
J Bruce It could. My semi-hollow body, humbuckered 12 string only gets that glorious sound with compression and chorus. That guitar is a different animal than mine, so I could be wrong. But I forgot about the compression for sure.
Nah, the main guy from the Black Keys got her hooked on smack. She recorded and played this record with Dan as a producer. This record is honestly amazing, but it's clearly a sad state of affairs for everyone involved. Beautiful music, but such a sad set of circumstances.
Well...where to begin. I don't know what I laughed at harder...the lumbersexual drummer and his red flannel shirt or her Metallica shirt! You know what, this is too easy to unravel, so, I'm just going to back out of here.
Love it! Our baby girl, so proud!!!!
your daughter is easily one of my favorite artists
same!
David Lee Mayfield she is so amazingly lovely!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️
@Davidleemayfield This is so cute! So many artists, myself included, don’t have the support of our families. It’s so sweet to see!
She's a gem!
She deserves much more listeners
She's awesome. I try and share as much as I can. She's a great songwriter.
i just adore her so much
I love how she's developed her own unique sound. Love the old stuff, but love the new stuff even more!
Love this song standing in the sun!!!

Oh my god these guys are good!
Really enjoyed the set. I'll make sure to pick up the album.
love this stuff
She is great.I gonna hear the album.
That guitar sound puts me instantly in mind of Lush.
Wow! That is exactly what I thought at the very beginning of the first song ... Lush!
Fanta Gianola It's just like the 12-string Miki plays on For Love, isn't it?
Wow, so many good things to say about this
Piercing guitar tone and soothing voice. Interesting contrast.
Sooo good!

mermermer22 This has nothing to do with punk. It's nearly the exact opposite.

Lovely!
Really cool singer and band.
This chick is awesome!
brilliant songwriting.
needs more chorus pedal, like 10 of them on at the same time or something.
My favorite genre is 'music'.

Very Euphoric

very good commentator
Nice
She has a really good cover of David Bowie I Love You Since I Was Six, thats how I heard of her.
Dan Auerbach produced the album from which this song is taken. Is that him playing drums here?
no..that is her ex husband on bass, new record will tell the story
I have the same shirt as the drummer
shes so fucking cute
Is she awake?
omkg lol
You try singing well and playing lead guitar, shit takes concentration.
kevman5 If Tiny Tim can do it, trust me, it's no major deal, dude.
You're clearly not.
lptomtom Nervous maybe?
something iiiin the waaaaaay
I hear Smiths and Joy division, with a Smidge of Sea Pony, an of course Heatmiser..
Oh My God of course - Beth Orton...
I was going to write narcissist under one of the comments but decided not to because I'm not exactly sure what it means.

Aki79 Way to take the bait. I would end that sentence with lolz but I'm not sure exactly what lolz means.
It's when people treat lol (internet slang for laughing out loud) as a verb. I lol, we lol, he lolz.

does anyone know what pedal(s) she is using w the danelectro?
+kkilco at least chorus reverb delay and overdrive.
and playing a 12 string helps
bassist can sure play that one string :/
Seeing him in a new light based on what we now know about why she left the marriage.
@@Warrogue1 was this the fella that got physical? I kept wondering that

@@Warrogue1 follow her on instagram if you're not already. Idk if he's still harassing her but she seems to be doing a lot better.
La banda me recuerda al grunge, me recuerda a Nirvana, me recuerda a mi adolescencia
Big and bright eyes...
reminds me a bit of a noisy waxahatchee
a little sonic youth too...
hihi... la trogne du barbu rouquemoutte à la batterie! :)
What's the effect she's using on the guitar solos?
Delay, chorus, overdrive, or at least that's what I hear. Delay is a staple for most solos and she's certainly using it here.
J Bruce It could. My semi-hollow body, humbuckered 12 string only gets that glorious sound with compression and chorus. That guitar is a different animal than mine, so I could be wrong. But I forgot about the compression for sure.
I want to have her babies.
Chorus. Less is more.
Does she do drugs?
No, she just looks bad because she was going through her own personal hell because of her abusive husband at the time.
