So, starting tha analisys by the pre-music scene, we have a reference to how it was when a woman didn't follow the system and tried to get all the other to form a unnity against opression, but ended up being seen as a bitter b*tch that couldn't get any good men (in the case of he play 'couldn't win the fight of who had it worst') and was trying to take it from other women and trying to make them look bad. That's why it was so difficult to any form of feminism or anything like that to form and get a real shape back them. This ties up perfectly with Parr's story because not only she actually was like that (or at least the most you could be at the time without dying), but she also married lots of times and all the times her husband died, so you can guess that she was seen as a cursed bitter woman. We also see in this how woman had no say about what they would do or who would they be with, even if they were already married or had a fiancé. It's also a bittersweet point, the 'I don't need your love' thing, because she didn't NEED, no matter how much she WANTED it, but, at the same time, she actually DID need someone's love to not be, as she said, banned from society. The fantasy part that she says what she wished she could tell the king shows just how much it's changed, in general, what she says them doesn't sound absurd to us, but it would sound completely absurd at the time, it would even look like she was a witch. Like 'women wanting to keep their lives instead of letting everything go to the trash because of a man' was a big no no. Then, finally, she breaks the cycle of abuse and dependency that all of them had with Henry by saying that her story isn't only about marriage, that SHE'S not only a bride, that's what breaks the pattern of 1500's society, that's what breaks the dependency cycle, that's what makes that other Queens realize that they were resuming themselves to Henry to HIStory, to to HERstory. I absolutely love the video and I hope to not be late next time :)
