This is amazing, Dan. I loved the part where we see the somewhat aftermath of when the books were beginning to come out and the engines' reactions to each one. The adaption of Centenary was quite good too. James and Caden's banter was hilarious, and I loved the ending too
Remarkable work, although I must say, the ending felt rather sudden. Other than that, great job. Different perspectives were used exquisitely, and Patrick almost crashing was major a climax. I, too felt great concern. A fan series as succesful as Sodor: The Modern Years would never have happened without this dear man. This 5-year-old string of improving stories won't go unappriciated, and this dear man will never be forgotten. Let's all show our admiration for him, for his upcoming 105th birthday!
I rather liked this Special and the change in focus. One moment it's all about the books and the next it's the Centenary with a bitta drama thrown in. I really liked the part with the books though and seeing Gordon reacting to what the children thought about it. He was totally like "I did no such thing....." but soon learns that the books are nearly like History books. Admittingly the Prince at the end gave me a bit of a laugh as I kept thinking; "Oh mah gawd look how detailed he is compared to the other people". A fine instalment all round lad.
The dialogue was so interesting. This is probably one of your best stories. I loved all th interactions, the back story was fantastic. Words can't describe how well put together this was.

This was a pretty great episode. I like how you made it feel a bit tense when the tunnels collapsed, and I think this episode was a pretty good idea for the 70th anniversary of Thomas & Friends. Also, wasn't that "In the Mood" I heard during the beginning of the flashback scene after World War II? I've always liked big band jazz.
This is the best way to completly finish Season 1, I would have like to see a bit more of Thomas like his driver reading the stories to James, I know that you would make a great special D. Happy New Year! :) Also I may send you a PM on the forums.

BEST OPENING EVER! This story may be one of your best episodes after "Winds of Change", if not better. I can see that you enjoy that Season 3 Busy Theme. Flashbacks, aweseome, overall, FANTASTIC.

Basically, Caden was being repaired in the works at the same time that Peter was being restored there. Given that it wasn't in the yard, Caden wasn't as bossy and so the two engines got to know each other.
So warm... The engines of Sodor are responsible, reliable and really useful, as always. I feel you didn't spend enough portion of the story on the tension caused by the tunnel's collapse; that would have been improved by lengthening it to something as long as Winds of Change. Still, far better than that hastily put together story by C. Awdry: An event like this certainly deserves have a special to itself. Needless to say, this is an outstanding piece of work, even by your standards!
I've especially wanted to mention that I'm personally a HUGE fan of the thin clergyman's RWS books myself since I've basically got a big story collection book that basically does completely feature exactly 14 sections that are actually 14 RWS books merged into 1 big story collection book! I personally love the illustrations by C. Reginald Dalby on the book about a certain big green tender engine named Henry! That certainly was indeed the Railway Series' 6th book that basically got published in 1951 exactly after nationalization was basically in full swing throughout the U K, and especially as expected would later be adapted for TV during mostly season 1 of the famous TV show! In fact, it's completely obvious that 2 of the stories from that exact book were actually combined into just 1 episode during that season while the other 2 stories for that season reminded separate! Another fact is those exact separate stories from that exact book are featured on both my DVD titled A Big Day For Thomas as well as on my fire stick! The other pair of stories adapted for TV during mostly season 1 were merged into an episode titled Whistles and Sneezes: completely combining Gordon's whistle and Henry's sneeze into a fantastic 2 for 1 episode!

The Ballahoo tunnel is closed off. Even if it wasn't, the Norramby Branch joins the mainline just before Henry's Tunnel. As such, all engines have to go though Henry's Tunnel to get to the mainland.
I recall that the Bitton Steam Railway in North Somerset also held similar events and these were very well attended. As Sheffield is recounting. I recall that being the case in Towynn in North Wales in the early 1970's ! As well. I went to that place as a 10 year old.

One of the things I always wondered about is in a world where the train, car, plane, or boat could talk to you would affect the nature of scrapping. I mean, when the above vehicles are clearly sapient, what does that do to the scrapmen? Are there any of them out there with PTSD over what they had done?

Watched this a few times since its release, it’s always enjoyable. It’s also a testament to your productions that they’re as enjoyable even six years on. On a side note, the human model you used to portray Prince Charles (guessing it’s Charles) looks exactly the same as the driver in London Underground Simulator, right down to the suit and tie.
Sheffield's heritage railway had 'Day Out With Thomas' Events. I didn't consider that thought. Hmm... you said that Jinty was also part of that heritage line. If Maxwell plays Henry (Both are Black Fives) and Sheffield played the role of Percy 'once or twice', (both are saddletanks), am I right in assuming Jinty sometimes plays Thomas' role?
You've done a very fantastic job at his remembrance, 105 he will be this year and his stories still live on. His son christopher would be proud to know how much people even in the modern age of internet videos, still want the story to carry on, and i hope they do too. As an added last message for you WildNorWester, a little known fact about Christopher Awdry. He was educated at the collage that reside in my home town which also happens to be the same town that lead singer of Iron maiden, Bruce Dickinson was born in.

I really enjoy this series it reminds me of the early season of the TV series I convinced mom to watch it after I checked the prologue and she enjoys it too we plan to finish watching the modern day series tomorrow keep up the good work
