This is so crazy... this actually works! Wishing the best karma on the person who posted this video, you just saved me hundreds by not buying a new machine when I was ready to give up after trying everything else.

Husband is an engineer. He didn’t believe this would work but I refused to throw the pump away without trying. Havent used it for 19mths. It was dead and no charge light. Tried charging for 3hrs. Nothing….. tried this for 4 mins and AMAZED it worked! Husband still baffled but it is currently lit up orange and charging so Im happy! Thanks so much. Annoying ELVIE dont recognise this as an issue. When i used the pump for feeding daughter last year I noticed it never held charge long and basically has to be charged every time and if left between charges even for half a day it needs re-charging even when not used. Great tip anyway - thanks!

I just had to come on here and comment because of Elvie's exceptional customer service! If your Elvie is not working, contact customer service and they are so helpful. My Elvie stride stopped charging. I came on here to find a way to fix it, but I was unable to do so. So I contacted the company and they are sending me a new one. Their customer service was seamless and responded via email. I am so grateful to them. I didn't even buy it directly from Elvie. If you have an issue, contact them.

Only if you are in the 2 yrs warranty period. After that they're pretty useless. They only offer 20% discount to buy a new hub. It's pretty annoying. That's why we are all trying to revitalize dead hubs here.

I was at the end of my patience after 5 minutes with no avail. Got pissed off and left it on charge. 1 min later looked at it and it's charging?!!! Cannot believe it. If your impatience AF like me just persist you won't regret it! Thank you for this tip just saved me a fortune!

I can’t believe this worked! A friend gave it to me and it just wouldn’t charge. I tried this first night and must’ve plugged in and out and played with switch back and forth with no luck. I left it overnight with plug in to see if there’s a miracle… nothing. Just when I was about to throw it away, I decided to do the cord plugging in and out 10-15 seconds and the first pump finally had a orange light! With newfound hope, I did the same with the second and after maybe 10-20 more in and out, the orange light came on for the second as well! I’ve used it 3 times already today and so far so good! Thank you!!

I don’t know why or how this works, but IT WORKS. Initially felt really dumb plugging in and out , but because there were so many comments saying it worked for them, I went ahead. Took me about 2 minutes total of alternating between plugging in and out, and pushing the on/off button of my extension cord. Couldn’t believe my eyes when the orange light came on. It had been in storage for 1.5 years.

haha no way!!!! After watching the video I tried for about 30 seconds and was like this is silly. Then I read the comments and was like, ok I'll try for 10 minutes.... after 4 it worked!!! Our Elvie is charging.. crazy!

  • @jordanderks6644

Thank you much! Got both my pumps working after 20 minutes or so! After a very frustrating conversation with Elvie support (I’m 4 months outside of my warranty so they offered me 20% off of a new one?! Um, no way!) I was devastated. Very skeptical when I watched this video but I’m so happy I tried it. Beyond happy to have my pump back, but I’m disappointed that this issue happens to so many people and the company isn’t offering a solution-this is such an expensive product!

  • @TuanPhamDDS

nice! this worked. i also used a power strip with a strip and kept turning the power on and off. if it turns amber, stop switching the switch! i made the mistake of switching it more and then i had to start the process over again for a while. i never saw the amber light up again so i just left it plugged in and after a couple mins it started to charge.

This finally worked!! Tried for about 2 hours. Works better if you use a plug switch on extension lead, rather than take USB in and out. Also, press home button while flicking switch on and off. Worked after 15 minutes of trying for me. Also, it worked when I used a portable phone charger instead of plugging USB into a normal socket

This worked, thanks buddy, but here is a better method. Keep the small end plugged into the Elvie, then take the USB end that plugs into the charger and do the plug/unplug process. This way you're less likely to damage the pumps due to the small connectors.

This finally worked with a slight tweak! I plugged both hubs into a power strip and just turned that off and on until the orange lights came on. Sadly it took 18min of doing this, but it saved wear and tear on the port in the hub and now they’re finally back on.

After taking in and out of the port repeatedly (maybe 50 times), start to give it an extra second when it is plugged in each time and see if the amber light turns on when you give it a second.

oh no! it's so annoying when it doesn't work! try maybe plugging it onto a power strip that has a switch and turning the switch on and off also try leaving it plugged in and over night and coming back in the morning then try the whole thing again. (i understand it's annoying) sorry to hear that... after our second kid i had to go thru this whole process again since it sat in storage and it didn't work as quick... it took a few days of going back to it and retying till i finally got them both going. Wish you best of luck! And enjoy your baby! They grow up fast.

It worked in getting the light to come on and charge for a few minutes, but the light eventually goes out while in the middle of charging. If I plug in and out a few more times it’ll light again, but then go out again. Anyone else experience this?

I did! I put it on a different charger and a different outlet and it stayed charging there. Be warned- after finally getting it fully charged, I didn’t use it for ten days and the battery completely drained again in that short time and I had to do this whole method again. Since then I’ve been charging it every other day even if I don’t use it and it’s working well

Well glad you asked! After a long time sitting on shelf (usually between kids) The battery depletes and gets very empty to the point where it doesn't want to wake up and take a charge. By flipping the switch on and off, Eventually it wakes up again and accepts a charge. There you have it now you know!

  • @willblewett1501
    @willblewett1501 ปีที่แล้ว

Quick disclaimer: im no engineer so please dont do this if you arent confident in what you do. Lithium batteries from experience tend not to accept a charge if theyre depleted below a certain level. if you open it up and look at the battery, there's three wires, from experience the yellow wire on the battery is a "control wire" which tells the battery to stop (and start) charging through the board the batteries connected to. If you disconnect that wire from the battery connector, but DO NOT cut it (there's a little push pin to remove wires from connector) you can charge the battery for half hour or so to get enough charge in the battery that the board will register that the battery needs to charge. Make sure you put the wire back in before charging as normal and don't leave the unit unattended just in case anything bad happens.
Don't leave the wire out though as the board won't tell the charger or battery to stop taking a charge. If you leave the wire out and overcharge the battery. It could break the unit or potentially explode the batter(or at least make it hot enough to expand and be dangerous)
