    $6 soldering iron from Walmart solves all your hole drilling issues. Just burn the holes in there. They are smoother and won’t crack or destroy your lids.

      For real I got my soldering iron for 3 bucks at some hardware store and it’s a lifesaver

    Aaaaaand there’s me, who spends $400+ on a set up. That seems to be completely pointless.🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️😂

      No not at all... why make you gecko live in a tub like this in poverty when you can give it a real enclosure

    I like your videos. I'm a mom that is helping her 9yr old daughter maintain her leopard geckos. I got into Cresties and we have 2. Your videos are very hekpful.

    Having problems with cracking, try heating up a rod of some sort and melt holes, works every time and no cracks,

    • @flicksfn965
      @flicksfn965 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Go slower and use a smaller bit and work your way up if you want no cracks

    Definitely the left one. It only cost slightly more but looks way better. Not everyone has a drill or want to use it. Factor in the chance of breaking it when drilling already offset the cost. Way better visibility as well.

    I’m irrevocably in love with crested geckos honestly and I also prefer bin cages so this is helpful!

    I tried to do this, but felt bad and ended up going out and buying 6 new exo tera tanks for everyone, and a shelving unit.

      Yeah its a bad way to house your geckos. Maybe extremely temporarily but this must suck.

    I made my temp tank out of a plastic fire hydrant had was sold with dog biscuits inside it. Its equivalent to a 5 g maybe 4.5. I drilled holes in the top lid. A short tube of bamboo with a hole in the side for a hide on the bottom and a longer Halo piece filled with sphagnum moss for a long climb branch as well as fakes leaf cluster to add for shade and hide. So he has some nice vertical space. My guys small only about 7 grams.

    • @Sostic
      @Sostic  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sounds like a pretty cool tank to me!

      @@Sostic thank it a Petlife dog biscuit. What I did for subtrate is use a damp lay of eco earth mixed with Moss for humidity then put a paper towel over that. Since the paper towels don't really hold humidity well.

    • @Branfaol1
      @Branfaol1 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@realchiknuggets actually took 5 minute to setup seeing as I had the bamboo cut already. Your correct about Moss spelling btw haha ( voice typing can suck) the hide and fake plants with be moved into the permanent ( at lest for 6-8 months.) When he gains another 3 grams or so. His scent being on both plus that used bamboo from the same stalk in the creation of the 10 gal ( that did take time to make) should help reduce the stress of the move.

    so for the one that already has the holes do i have to worry about like humidity and ventilation?

    I'm curious as to why you don't like the styrofoam egg crates? Seems like they would be fine as water shouldn't affect them. Also about how old/or how big should a crested gecko be before you can put it in a tereraium such as a 12x12x18?

    So I heard putting the food tray in an ash tray helps keep it from tipping over

    I would do bin not everyone has hundreds of dollars for exo terra. Sides at times I might need to bring my gecko with me if I visit family. I don't wanna take an tank everywhere lol.

    Is there any chance of escape in that one with the green handle and clamps (second one)? As in, can the gecko squeeze through the gap between the tub and lid?

    Does "fired up" necessarily mean darker? My baby crested gecko is darker in it's enclosure and after handling for a couple minutes, the colors become more dull and light

    • @curseflame7476
      @curseflame7476 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      when your geckos colors become duller that means it is "fired down", but if its colors are more vibrant or exaggerated then it is "fired up".

    Will the paper roll not get soggy when misting?

    • @tehhron
      @tehhron 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You don't want to mist so heavy that anything is getting soggy

    • @curseflame7476
      @curseflame7476 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      is will get moist but also dry a little between each misting and don't water the enclosure like your watering a plant just give it a light mist.

    Get a soldering iron and you won’t have the cracking issue Walmart sells them for 10 bucks
