Korea is grateful for the participation of the United States and its allies

      South Korea not.
They always remember the participation of ALL soldiers on the UN side.
      So why this lie?

@@kayvan671 I may have misinterpreted it because I am not good at English, but Korea tries to remember the noble sacrifices of the United States and UN participating countries and is grateful that we are here because of your sacrifice. A few Koreans define you as invaders and swear at you, but please note that the majority are really grateful for the participation of the United States and the United Nations This trend is also in politics, and we hate them, but Korea is a politically polarized country, so there are still politicians and governments who insult the UN and participating countries If they made insulting remarks to the U.N. and the U.S., I apologize on behalf of the same Korean I'm sorry

@@kayvan671 What's with the attitude, man? No need to get whiny about a guy on the internet expressing their gratitude for the US and their allies helping to keep the south as it's own nation. Plus, US and her allies literally means the US, South Korea, UK, and the other UN countries that helped. Bit stupid if you ask me.

My father was born in Sindang-Dong in 1946. His father ( a district chief) and brother were taken by the North Koreans in 1950 and were tortured and interrogated and if it wasn't for the people of Sindang-Dong they wouldn't have been executed. The US military took Incheon and my dad and his family were able to escape through the port of Incheon.

My grandfather was in Korean war in the Army as well. He did medical stuff with people who developed psychological problems in battle, and after the war took a job at a psychiatric hospital to continue doing what he could to help his brothers i guess. He passed away when i was only 7 so i never got to talk to him about his experience first hand, and sadly i really dont know much about the war he helped fight.

My great-grandfather was also a Korean War veteran, he died many years ago when I was a baby, but now I'm trying to join the Army when I become an adult after only a few years because I'm a just teenager for now. to follow what my great-grandfather did, fighting against communism and defending my fatherland.
Thank you for your service veterans.

the part I love most, what do you think of the over 3 million people who were herded into caves by the government the US put in place, and then shot them in the backs of the head and sealed the caves, or the people the US soldiers murdered along roads after being given the order "shoot anyone whether they look like a refuge or not as they may be a communist" the mindset to hear that another country murdered civilians on both sides and then say thanks cause you helped us beat another economic form! oh wait, North Korea still exists...so much for "beating"

what is interesting here is the completely different tone than vietnam war songs, much less anti war, more a sense of solemn duty, it seems that not long after these men must have come to realise that they wouldn't be treated like the heroes they are when they got back home

Most Korean war vets were actually treated quite well, as most people saw the Korean war the same way they saw ww2. It was the same old same old, spreading liberty at our own sacrifice to save the south Korean people, Unlike Vietnam

My Dad in his 90’s still talks about how his Cousin Kirby Foley who he was closer to than his own brother (same age) was drafted straight out from a holler in south West Virginia mountains into this war. Having never left the immediate area Kirby died way out there he was only 19 years old.
So many Americans over so many years have given their all in the blossom of their lives.
Dad enlisted in the navy - he figured it was better than being drafted into the army.
If you can survive the trip across the pacific in an LST that is.

The reason this generation enjoys kpop and other korean festivities, food, etc. is because of the UN coalition. Those guys marching with M1 steel pots fending off human banzai chrges from the Korean Peoples Army and the Peoples Volunteer Army. South Korea lives because the men of the un coalition died for it. While my grandfather was not in Korea, he served in the army during the war in Puerto Rico from 56 to 58. Once he came back to his wife, she had my father almost 3 years later. If he had been in Korea I probably wouldn’t exist. He was in the US Army Signal Corps as a communications specialist, he told me he snorkeled around Guantanamo Bay and worked on the planes in San Juan. He lived long enough to see a slimmer of hope a few years ago between North Korea and South Korea thanks to a certain president who I won’t name. I thought the war would finally be over. But unfortunately that wasn’t the case. He died about a year ago and there wasn’t a dry tear from me at all. I wasn’t the best grandson, but I know he always loved me and I will always remember him. I will do everything in my power to see that the war actually comes to an end. Tom S Corporal third class April 1956 to March 1958.
