- Paul is at Guitar Summit checking out the latest and greatest gear form this fantastic guitar event.
Today Im looking at Bluguitar Amp x, Panucci Guitars, AmS Amplifiers, Hook amps, and Carrozza Guitars.
This has been the best guitar show I have ever attended and would highly recommend any guitar fan going next year.
The Studio Rats are core band members Paul Drew on guitar/production/mixing, drummer James Ivey and Dan Hawkins on bass. They collaborate with singers and musicians to produce radio-ready songs.
Great coverage. It was a pleasure meeting you in person, too, Paul.
Laughing my ass off at the segment with Werner from those crazy guitars, he did NOT had his elevator pitch ready! 🤣 Times up aaaand gone!
A new guitar made "relic and old" afterwards still makes absolutely no sense for me... ☹️
I thought the guy from Hook Amps was “Andy the guitar geek” who had plugged into the mains!

FINALLY someone hits the AMPX booth. You'd think the AMP1 would have already punished the competition enough, but no.
SS frets is a must. I don't ever want to deal with fretwork.
You know its weird thing, I play guitar everyday and have never replaced frets on any guitar. But like you I prefer SS frets.

SS frets last longer but not forever

I had the chance to play three Panucci LPs. They were outstanding! Unfortunately none was for sale. Several Murphy Labs were also on display. They are in the same league, but different. It's as always a matter of personal taste, but i have to admit a Panucci was my favourite and I'd like to get one.
Henrik Freischlader also plays a Panucci ! Great tone :) Thomas Blug is such a perfectionist... Hope AmpX will be on the market within the... following 10 years ? :-)) Fabulous gear in this Video Paul. Cheers !

The audience and consumer would be satisfied with 1-10% of his AMP X. Hopefully he puts it out asap 🎉
Personally I think guitars are absolutely art…I love playing them, but love looking at them too.
Leendert Haaksma from HOOK amps is a great guitarist, and a true innovator, technician and guitarenthousiast! The Hook wizard amp with the motorized knobs has really great sounds! I a/b this amp with my marshall 1959hw and my fender amps, and in all honesty prefer the hook wizard! Much more flexible to dial in great sounds, and better midrange!
Panucci look fantastic, but aside from price, with only 25 made a year, there’s probably no chance of ever owning one. Would be interesting to compare to an Eastman. I have a 59SB that I picked up for €900. It’s far better than a 2006 LP I own.
I owned an AMS and those amp are killers, go check them out !

I have to agree with Thomas though, getting it 'right' now means a product that will last and compete with other products out there for a much longer time. Plus, like Amp 1, it is unique and doesn't actually have another product that is very similar to it at the moment, which is down to Thomas's engineering creativity.

Panucci guitars are great. I suspect Paul will be getting one. The one with a hb in the bridge and P90 in the neck.

Some great products out there beyond those starting with F, G, P etc aren’t there!
Its weird that the big brands are not there. Its almost like they turn their nose up until things get big. they really would have benefitted from being there.
I use Bluguitar amp 1 merc as a practice amp and like it. I wish he would release the amp x and share it with us. He can always release a v2. It's time to share it! 😊

I’ve heard rumours it’s late 2024, but not from Thomas
@TheStudioRats Excellent. I like that rumor if it becomes true. 😁 I do appreciate the fact he wants it right the first time. It's been a long journey, but he's been honest and upfront about the process. I'm really looking forward to this when it comes out. You can certainly tell this is all an extremely big deal to him and he just wants it perfect.
