The Hup video performed worse than any video I've ever done before. It shocked the hell out of me, so I'll be waiting a while before I revisit the Crystal. Not that I don't love the stuff, but there's no way to cover the costs of these if the audience isn't there in sufficient numbers

I wanted to do a whole series of WoW characters, but they cost loads of $ just in materials, and no one ever even bought this 1 guy (he's on Ebay for a few months now). Would be great if there was a renewed interest. I love making the fantasy characters the most, so it would be a privilege to get back to it.
oh aye, I've had to trim these back quite a bit to appeal to the multitude of folks that don't have larger attention spans or the inclination to watch longer videos. I WILL make additional videos showing more on the second channel, as well as a tutorial series for patrons in the future.

Thank you kindly. Venturing into the gaming territory is a difficult choice. The sculptures I make are very costly and part of the hope is that their quality will command a decent price for collectors, who would have to be very passionate and capable of affording or supporting that level of work. Making fortnite characters, for example, might get an excited response from their community, but none of them would actually buy one. It's a tricky and sticky situation. But I love fantasy and I hadn't made an orc yet, so this one nabbed my attention (after a wow fan friend insisted I give this a try)

I am seeing that little dude everywhere, and I saw 3 sculptors already posting their in progress pics. He looks suspiciously "Deet" like... I am tempted, to capture the trending benefits, but it wouldn't really stretch me and my abilities as an artist. In the hopes of drawing in more viewers, it's definitely a good idea. I am seriously considering it, but it's something I would need to make, very, very fast, to capitalize on the interest that will, undoubtedly, wane within a couple weeks at most.
I'll be happy if you can make Vol'jin the Shadow Hunter of the Darkspear Troll, World of Warcraft like a tribute 😻😻 😻 I know is a challenging character but I know you can do it 😎see your artworks is a nostalgia for me 😸

Wasn't sure what the reaction would, but the dude is still sitting around, so I guess there's not much interest from those folks in this kind of work. Its a damn shame because I wanted to make a list of WoW characters, but just making this guy actually lost money. 300 in materials costs alone, and the video made back 150$ in views. It sucks because I actually think its a pretty good likeness of the cg character from the cinematic.
A sculptor is a person obsessed with the form and the shape of things, and it's not just Ihe shape of any one thing, but the shape of any thing and everything.
well, I don't have any intention of sculpting a rock, a dirty pair of socks, fetid cheese, a broken bottle, or imitate the lifelike qualities of a fresh cow poop - I'm sure it would be challenging to capture all the minute details, and perhaps I might even feel some pride in the accomplishment if it looked 'real' enough, but if I'm going to empty myself into a project, I prefer it be something that satisfies me to my core. Making Deet, for example, brought me and others a great deal of joy. I can't say that would be same if I accepted the challenge of sculpting a realistic slice of mouldy bread.
So it looks like you use monster clay I’m taking it. I’ve never tried that brand I’ve been using Apoxsee sculpt and green stuff because I do 1/10 scale figures are used to do table top gaming figures for over 10 years I was one of the top hero scape customize figure makers out there I need to try this though I would like to learn some of what you use I would like to give it a shot for myself
How did you handle the eyes from the model to the cast? I've been thinking about this the past few days, I've been sculpting small models for a few days now, just slowly trying to learn different things and one thing that seems like a magic trick to me, and I haven't seen any explanation for is eyes They go into the model when the model is being sculpted, then they are still there when the mould is being casted, and there they are in th head of the new model that you've just casted from the mould.. Do you actually glue them inside the mould before you put in the gel..?
Pretty close my dude. I take them out of the sculpts (a rather frightful and disturbing procedure, especially after all that work). I apply a thin layer of silicone inside the mould and I set them in there where they're to remain and let the silicone cure up, which pretty much glues them in places. Them I pour and paint in successive layers and it secures them in place further. It's a neat trick, though it's not ideal. It requires the mould have open access to that part of the skull. It's ok if the character has hair, so you can cover up the seam line pretty well.
